Guest guest Posted July 26, 2000 Report Share Posted July 26, 2000 Cheese/Bacon Spread 1 16oz pkg. sharp cheddar cheese (grated) 1pkg. slivered almonds (toasted) 2 bunches green onions (chopped) 16 slices of crisp bacon (crumbled) 1 and 1/2 cups Mayo pinch garlic salt Mix all ingredients and store in refrigerator. Keeps for days and gets better! Serve with Wasa Crackers or celery sticks. Stuffed Mushroom Appetizer 2 pounds large mushroom caps (discard stems) 8 ounces cream cheese, softened 1/2 box of frozen chopped spinach (thawed, cooked, drained and squeezed) 3 large green onions, minced 1 tbs.. butter to sauté 1/4 tsp. ground savory Sauté onions until they begin to soften. Set aside. Process (or use mixer to blend) cream cheese, spinach, onion, and savory until smooth. Stuff caps, broil until lightly browned. Baked Mozzarella Take 4 ounces of sliced Mozzarella cheese and a couple of slices of tomato and put in a ziploc bag with some low-carb Italian dressing, vinaigrette, or oil and vinegar. Marinate for several hours. Put cheese in bottom of oven safe bowl and top with tomato slices. Pour dressing on top. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and bake at 400 F. until melted.
