Guest guest
Hello to all, I am asking this question on behalf of one of the families I work with who are not currently on the list. Their 5 year old son is having tremendous difficulties in two areas and the parents are finding the medical community is somewhat at a loss for answers. Sleeping and behaviours. Two medications have been tried to help him sleep, both made the situation worse, the exact opposite affect. The behaviours consist of obsessive licking, tapping, door closing, draw rearranging, and occasional aggression to self and others. I know many of you have discussed these concerns on the list before and many discussed numerous medications being tried before you found something that worked. Could those who have gone through any of the above please send a list of what was tried and what worked. The family has a teleconference arranged for the end of next week with medical staff hoping to find some solutions. IN terms of program we are doing everything we can in regards to communication, calendar boards, pacing etc. etc., but I " m more than open to suggestions in this area too. I very much appreciate you taking the time and will print out and pass along the answers. thanks to all catherine wareham consultant deafblind resource services ontario, canada
