Guest guest
Jennie, My name is , have been away from the pc for a while. Some might remember me from when I was in Japan. In any case, I am currently on 2.5mg tritace, and have no problems with " apetite " . I think my wife thinks I have too much " apetite " . Guest guest
When addressing Pierre, can we say Dear Stud Muffin? I think that would be wonderful. Guest guest
I'm sure you will find something that doesn't have that side effect, as not all ACE inhibitors have that side effect (I've got my medication textbook in front of me now, which has the side effects written for each medication). And accupril is one of the ones that doesn't have that side effect, so maybe that one will suit you better. --- ccsenter wrote: > Thank you Jennie. So your married now, like said I seem to remember fiance last time you wrote. Congratulations if you have married in the meantime. Are you home from Japan now ? Would love to have a catch up from you. Best wishes Re: Sexual drive > > > Unfortunately, Monopril is one of those meds that can cause a drop in libido (I'm a nurse as well as an IgAN sufferer). Guest guest
First Pierre, now , am getting one huge complex here guys, I am the moderator with LL (low libido) and feel the odd one out. Do they do Viagra for ladies yet? Tee hee. Ok I think this subject is getting off base, but hey we need a little giggle now and then. Good for you , glad you have something good in your life that is not ruined by the IGAN, you have been through so much, you deserve some good times. Now that I am no longer red, and but now green with envy, I'll get back in my box, LOL!!! Re: Re: Sexual drive Hi Erna, I take Lisinopril, but it definitely has not affected my libido. I think my husband probably wishes it would :-) I think I have a very overactive libido.

Guest guest
Re: Sexual drive Hi Dimitris, yes I have. Skin irritation on my scalp which cause dandruff and sometimes redish irritations along my nose and forehead. I wash my hair one day and the next day it's itching all over my scalp. I'v tried so many shampoons...nothing works. Basically the sympthoms are very similar to seborrheic dermatitis. Guest guest
Hi Dimitris, I'm sorry to read about your GFR drop. I don't know mine yet, but I switched my drogs for 2 days now. I took Monorpil ( I guess the name doesn't mean anything for you, but it's an ACE inhibitor) for a while now and Norvasc. I stopped taking both and I take accupril, 40 mg a day. Will see how it works for me. Anyway, I can feel a change in my libido, in a positive way. And that's good news. >something like phsoriasis on my head, I was totaly tired and the >potassium level near to heart attack The symphtoms are similar for me, except the potassium level. wish you all the best, Csaba > > > Hi Csaba, > > > > > > Well, I am female, but during my college years I worked in the > > medical office > > > of a doctor who treated many patients with high blood pressure, > and > > I can > > > tell you that some BP medications do have an effect on sexual > drive > > and > > > sexual response. > > > > > > Pierre is our resident expert on BP medications, so perhaps he > can > > give you > > > more detail on which particular meds cause this side effect. Guest guest
Hi, My name is Ingrid and my husband has been dealing with IGA for the past two years and is going to begin peritoneal dialysis soon. This is just a small problem we have been dealing with. They say once you start dialysis this problem should and will get better. As a devoted wife and partner it is difficult to deal with sometimes, but as long as you have devoted spouse/patner and you love each other then this is considered a small inconvenience and is dealt with in a mature and appropriate manner. have a great day! thekuhns@... Guest guest
brag, brag, brag, Connie, USA Re: Sexual drive I tell you one thing, it would take a lot more than a medication or just kidney failure to affect my libido! ....well, maybe the morning after dialysis It does happen to some though, and it's something to seriously discuss with the doc. Pierre Re: Sexual drive > > Well, menopause can also have an effect on libido, too, unfortunately, due to the decrease in female hormones present in the system. > smustard wrote:You have got to be kidding!! I thought it ws menopause that was doing the lost libido problem with me. But you say it can be advanced kidney problems? Maybe I have something more than a transplant to look forward to. I don't even like reading a racey book. I have found myself skipping the good parts. I have been thinking that I was just not interested in any of it any more and quite francly, I missed the closeness of the whole problem. > > To edit your settings for the group, go to our Yahoo Group home page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/iga-nephropathy/ Visit our companion website at www.igan.ca.
