We have exchanged pictures. He definitely looks like mom. He and I

have different dads but there is some resemblance between the two of

us.

Mom and I were living with her parents, she was 21 and unmarried.

After he was born, the pregnancy was never spoken of again, until of

course I found out. (I guess you could say I'm the black sheep when

it comes to grandma.) Blew her away when she found out that I knew.

I understand there was alot of stigma back then for a woman to be

unmarried and have a child, let along 2. Anyway, mom did a wonderful

job with me and I only wish I could change the past (but of course,

whose mind has that not crossed at some time or other.)

You are so right; there was a stigma about having a child out of

wedlock. I am always sorry to hear that someone is pregnant and

unmarried because I know that means hardship for both mother and

child. Let's face it, in most cases it is difficult to be a single

parent, work and have enough quality time for a child and having

enough money is usually a problem. I admire those ladies who have the

courage to " give the baby " out for adoption when they realize that

keeping him/her is not best for either the mother or the child. I

also have a great admiration for the young ladies who have the courage

to say no to abortion when they find themselves pregnant without a

husband. I am a firm believer in marriage but things do happen; it's

the way we handle them that tells what kind of person we are. Your

mom must be a very special lady. doris
