Guest guest
Angel, Why did the doctor only give you these two options? Maybe you should have a second opinion. I guess I must be a very stubborn person but if the doctor's didn't give me the answer I was looking for I found another one. After 2 m/c's my OB told me I would never have a baby. So I went to another OB in the practice. When I lost my 4th preg. at 23 weeks the Chief of Staff in the Perinatal Dept. told me I could try again but would probably get the same results. So once again I found a new specialist, one that is positive that I can have a live baby and made the Chief of Staff eat his words when I got to 32 weeks. I have found that so many doctors have different opinions. When I was in delivery with my last baby the OB and Specialist were disagreeing constantly. The OB said the baby wasn't breech and the specialist said it was. So they gave me an ultrasound to prove who was right. Anyway what I' trying to say is get a second opinion. It's at least worth a try. Stacey G. --- MRSFISH95@... wrote: > Hi everyone, > > I just thought you would like an update on my RE > visit today. Guest guest
SCROLL DOWN Your post gave me great hope. WE are starting ttc. soon, and my biggest worry is that what if it is another ep., but after reading your post, I realise for the first time that I do have a chance of a normal pregnancy. Your doctors always tell you not to worry, that things will probably be fine next time round, but I never quite believe them, because they can't give you real statistics. You are the first person to say that you have had successfull pg's after ectopic, and that gives me great hope. thank you. sonja >From: ElysGrl@... >Reply-To: ectopicpregnancyegroups >To: ectopicpregnancyegroups >Subject: Re: Angel's update >Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 00:13:10 EDT > >In a message dated 10/18/99 7:52:08 PM Eastern Daylight Time, >MRSFISH95@... writes: > ><< I do have a ??? Guest guest
HI let us know what the doctor had to say. Good luck!! I will be sending you ++++++++thoughts. Here is a question for all of you. I know that the majority of you see an RE. at which point did you start seeing them? After how many ep's or miscarriages? I am only seeing a gynea. and my normal gp. but I would like to know if it is advised to see a RE after one ep. I don't really have any other reproductive problems, just hassles with my periods.(usually very long, with bad cramps) please let me know. The other thing is I started taking my temps. yesterday, I have never done this before, so I am really feeling a bit insecure. How important is it to take it at exactly the same time each day, would 5 minutes either way affect the reading? Also, I know that you have to take it after atleast 2 or so full hours of deep sleep, but I toss and turn alot during the hours leading up to when I wake up, will this make a difference? I really feel like a novice at all this, and the only real reference I have is what I read in fertility books and medical references. My gp. and gynea. feel that it is too soon to be worrying about things like temps. and mucus checks, but I have always been the kind of person that wants to know exactly what is going on in my body, and after the ep. I don't like not knowing. I also want to know the exact moment when I get pg. again, so that I can see my gynea. a.s.a.p to confirm the location of the pg. before it gets too far advanced. I know that I will not be able to relax and get exited about a future pg. untill I have confirmation that it is not another ep. and once the 3 month risk period for miscarriage has elapsed, so I want to get it all out the way the sooner the better. I definately don't want another emergency like last time. Can any of you help? sonja > >Reply-To: ectopicpregnancyegroups >To: <ectopicpregnancyegroups> >Subject: Re: Angel's update >Date: Tue, 19 Oct 1999 08:12:47 -0400 > >Angel: > >I have not been able to get pregnant after my ectopic, but I have just >found >out that this is because of another problem completely unrelated to the >ectopic. Guest guest
Tara It's great to hear that someone else is in the same situation! I sometimes feel so lonely where this is all concerned, all my close friends are finished with the 'baby blues' and the ones that aren't have a great history of conceiving while on the pill and using condoms! so they have no idea where I stand. I have been taking my temps for 3 days now, and it has been going fine, except that I have no idea what the normal varients are on a daily basis, so I don't know really what I'm supposed to be looking for. I know what happens at ovulation, so I will be able to detect that, but before, how many degrees does your temp. usually vary on a day to day basis? I am also taking prenatals for the folic acid, and trying very hard to keep my diet healthy(for a pizza addict that is not so easy) I'm just waiting for my next period, so that I know I've had one 'pill free' AF before trying again, so if all goes well, we should be resuming the horisontal by mid. November. Keep me updated on how you are getting on, we can exchange notes. take care, and best of luck!! I will send you ++++++ thoughts! sonja >From: ride7108@... >Reply-To: ectopicpregnancyegroups >To: ectopicpregnancyeGroups >Subject: Re: Angel's update >Date: Wed, 20 Oct 1999 11:15:21 -0700 > > " sonja kershaw " wrote: >original article:/group/ectopicpregnancy/?start=6 >47 > >Sonja, > >I too am about to start taking temps - should start Monday if my cycle >cooperates. Guest guest
Sonja, I'm also unsure of what I will see when I begin charting temps. That's why I think everyone says it takes about 3 months to see a clear pattern. I have been off the bcp since August and probably will wait until Dec/Jan before really ttc. I'm not real great about sticking to a healthy diet and have anemia and am underweight (through no fault of my own - totally in the genes). So my doc would like to see me take the vitamins for the next 2 mos or so before ttc. Here's a complaint - the prenatals I got are horse pills. Does anyone take a specific brand that are smaller. Being intubated ended my ability to easily swallow pills. I know it's a mental block and not related to anything remotely physical, but I gag on every pill and my eyes tear up. Before the surgery I could down 2 advil at once w/out water, now forget it. So if anyone can recommend a small pill please let me know. Thanks! Guest guest
, I never heard of a pill cutter but I think I will stop at CVS this afternoon and ask. It's absolutely horrible trying to swallow these things! Tara Re: Angel's update Tara, My vits are horse pills also...can you get a pill cutter and cut them in half (or even smaller?) Guest guest
Sonja, I'll check for the filibon and I'm going to look for a pill cutter. If these fail I will be forced to start crushing them -yucky!!!!!! You would think they would be smaller and the patient could just take 2. Go figure. Krista, if you're out there surfing - hope you're doing well. I hear you've been bored out of your mind. I read when I'm bored. That's all I did after my surgery - I never watched TV. Pick a juicy novel and dive right in, ask Todd to grab you one at the store. It would be interesting to see what he picks. When I was recovering, dh picked up several for me and I enjoyed them believe it or not. It's worth a try! Guest guest
I usually use two teaspoons sandwiched together. put the pill in the one teaspoon, and use the rounded outerside of the other to 'crush' the pill, just squish the two teaspoons around a bit to break the pill up, then you can throw the powder into a small amount of water, and just swallow it down. (tastes horrible, but does the job!) > >Reply-To: ectopicpregnancyegroups >To: <ectopicpregnancyegroups> >Subject: Re: Angel's update >Date: Fri, 22 Oct 1999 09:03:54 -0400 > >Tara, > >My vits are horse pills also...can you get a pill cutter and cut them in >half (or even smaller?) > > J. > > >------------------------------------------------------------------------ > >eGroups.com home: /group/ectopicpregnancy > - Simplifying group communications > > > > > ______________________________________________________
