Guest guest
and I can understand that. We all tend to get " happy " with the status quo and don't like changes. I am that way myself and like to keep things going the way they are...in other words, sometimes I am " stuck in the mud " because some changes ARE for the better. Who knows??? Groups may be one of those changes that are for the better??? I did not like the group concept myself when I first joined a group about a year ago. Now I have found that there are so many advantages to the groups. I have listed at the bottom of this message several reasons why I prefer groups...there are other reasons that are not listed. These are the main reasons. The reason I am writing this note to all of our members is to ask you to please give groups a chance. Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater!!! If you give groups a chance and then decide to leave, please let us know you are leaving. We would miss you but would certainly understand that you felt you had to go. Doris WHY DORIS LIKES AND PREFERS GROUPS: 1. I like the way you can reply to a message by just clicking reply and then instead of having to click to messages again to get back the way we did in clubs, you get a screen that says continue and it takes you to the message your just replied to. 2. I like the messages being in a " book " order...reading from top to bottom because that is the way I have always read a book and it comes natural. 3. I like it that the message you are replying to can be a part of your reply...if you will notice I usually try to delete all but the part that shows what I am replying to and who I am replying to. 4. I LOVE it that we can do a search and find a previous message by its subject. Have not checked to see if you can find one if you know subject and it was not on the subject line. 5. I would love it more if everyone would learn to put a new subject on the subject line. Sometimes a subject line has nothing to do with what someone has written but we just click reply and write our new message (this happened in clubs too). 6. I like it that you can post larger messages than you could in clubs. I got tired of having to cut the bottom off messages, writing continued in next message and then hoping I would get the rest posted before someone posted another message in between. 7. I also like that you can have a Poll in groups...however, the bc group would not work for that because I am sure we would never be able to get everyone to do it that way. It would be wonderful if Jeana could do a poll about the trip to Phoenix and whoever wanted to go could say so there. Then everyone could see who was going and who was thinking about it, etc.

Guest guest
I am glad you are a group. I have been very busy dealing with brain tumors and other tumors as well. I don't spend as much time on the internet as I would like but I guess that is just the way it is when you are dealing with cancer. I will try and come in tonite and explain my situation more clearly.

Then everyone could see who was going and who > was thinking about it, etc. I have no idea why you think you don't have my e-mail, since you write to me.I would never have kept going through cancer without the support groups.Sometimes I turn to the breast cancer group, but there have been instances where people have attacked (Ibelieve the cyber word is flamed) others either me or others, and there is too nmuch pain out there foranyone to have to handle this. My " main " group is a general cancer support group; they are my second family. For anyone who hasn't used a support group, this is the place you howl, bitch, weep, pray, laugh, ask for and get infornmation. It is the place where people understand. It is a rock for caregivers. Not having a support group would probably have seen to it that I didn't make it.I am really serious about this.Of course,I may not yet, but so far I am chugging along.I answer very little, as after the one round of flaming,I read and learn, and I pray for you all, but I will not expose myself to such pain again.I have not seen any such thing on the general cancer list, and there I feel safe.We have been through some odd things like a person who was so strong for us all, although she was dying, and by pure chance,we found out that she didn't even and never had had cancer.(If the list owner wants to write privately,I'll give her the name). My nname and e-mail is opwen to everyone in the world from the amount of spam I get (including invit.to a 60 yr old priest with one breast missing to attend mardi gras party at playboy mansion in New Orleans- honestly!!!) I may lurk, but I am here for anyone.my e-maill is totally open (ask Hugh Heffner! lol) Alison+

Guest guest
Groups are fine and they do sometimes help. Sometimes though I just don't want to know or even talk about it because the thought of it still scares the hell out of me and other times it makes me tired. But , I do enjoy the comraderie that is displayed and am willing to join in and relay my story hear others storiies and help where I can. Becky > and I can understand that.
