Guest guest
One of the things so harmful not only in AA but also in other religions, is the naming of Anger as Bad. Anger is called in the Big Book " the dubious luxury of normal men. " Excuse me, but I have always been normal. Nevertheless, I hereby proclaim that Anger is Good. For those who believe in God, realize that if you're angry, God's will is being done whether you like it or not. This is a concept so obvious that even a newborn baby gets it. Small children and dunces have no problem with it. Of course, we would expect religion to squelch the fine emotion of anger, along with other lifegiving feelings, like horniness. In AA, I was assured that anger is deadly, and given a method to get rid of it--moral inventory, confession, ammends, and prayer. I used the method repeatedly. However, determined to alert me to the fact that I was being seriously screwed, my Anger kept bobbing forth, keeping me awake at night, demanding to light its fire under the asses of AA abusers. He would not be smothered. He would not be denied! Now, He has busted loose, shining and clean, determined to defend me and others who have been screwed. He got my car back from the unrighteous impound of the Police. Relentlessly he dogged me into learning media skills, so that the 12 step Abusers could be exposed. At a party, he foiled the floozy who tried to steal my boyfriend. With great outspokenness, he tells the truth! Your anger will tell you, and others, the truth. Could that be why the AAs want to smother him?
