That is good news. Now don't be too down about the job...you were under a

lot of stress, worrying about your tests and all...I can't imagine you were

going to go into the interview being perky and full of energy. It just

wasn't meant to be...patience, patience...all good things come to those who

have faith and wait, you'll see!

Boy, I'm turning into one of those people who always " has a story " . Luckily

there's always the " delete " button!

My Mom worked for the same place for 28 years (night shift when we were

little). She came up against a boss who really didn't like her. I don't

really know why - but all of a sudden Mom was in trouble for her " attitude " .

One day, when she went into work, the lady (and I'm using the term loosely)

fired her. Mom was 52 (admitted to 51) and out of work. It was really

tough on her. She found another job, though, one better!

I always told her that woman did her a favor, making her available for that

other job to " find her " . (Actually I took her out for coffee to celebrate

the day she got fired - knowing how miserable she'd been) It can be tough

to see why things happen the way they do, but something will come along for

you - no doubt.

And you'll be healthy and ready for it!!!!

OH Corky, I'm sorry that you feel bad. You are not a failure!!! Something

better is out there. You have to believe in yourself. I think you will

find a job that is just so totally awesome that you'll be glad you didn't

get this one.

Well, actually this is the second job I didn't get in my agency within the

last six months. IT is starting to feel like i won't. And I am almost 50

and have too much invested retirement wise in working for the STate, and

they do pay well, so I could not consider leaving the STate at this time in

my life. And I am almost 50, and most people don't get promoted in their

50s. My only hope is that there will be a lot of retirements within the

next five years and I could get something there. But I am barely hanging on

financially so it is hard to wait. Other than my financial situation, I

love my job and wouldn't look to change it.

thanks for everyone' s support and kind wishes though. Today was a tough one

to get through, it really hurts. However, I was just talking with my

father and gave him the good news, bad news scenario, and his response to me

was: Well, at least the good new was in the right place, it would have been

horrible to have breast cancer and get the job. He's right..............

might seem ironic . my dad was 65 and his company wanted to transfer him to

another state.. my dad

said he was not moving again.. so they said that was it for him... he walked

across the hall in his

building and got a job for 3xs his previous salary . the same day .he could

have done that years

ago instead of taking all the abuse he did and being " loyal " to a company who

did not appreciate

his worth and i could have been a spoiled rich kid lol
