My daughter had surgery when she was 6 weeks old 4 years ago. I stayed with

her in the hospital for 3 nights until she was released at Arnold Palmer

Hospital for Women and Children. During that time, I grew to REALLY

appreciate the health that I took for granted with both my children. It

taught me a valuable lesson, number 1 being to be thankful we were only

there for a one time visit and for only a few days. I met parents whose

whole lives revolved around the hospital. They knew the nurses by name and

they had regular rooms that they were placed in if they were available. I

felt so sorry for them but at the same time so relieved that I could just

leave. Be thankful if this is your one time trip and I'll say a prayer for

you and your son. You say a prayer for all the others you'll meet and see

if you're on a pediatric ward.

Corrie -

I understand - it's just devastating to think of your child going through

something like that. We're lucky enough to be close to Children's Orthopedic

Hospital in Seattle, and they've had both of my kids there for one thing or

another. When was burned - we were in a room with four other baby

girls....very tough.

I'm glad it's not serious - but it's still tough....

Take care -

Terri

What are the things that are wrong with your son? Has he had the ultrasound

yet? I hope its nothing majorly serious or that it can be easily corrected.

Sending cyber hugst oyou As for the doc you should definitely go elsewhere

if he won't answer your questions.

Stay strong.

Son to have surgery

Well it's official, the last 2 day's I've been calling and running like

crazy trying to get my son into a doctor.

And finally last night we were able to see a doctor, and

he has to have surgery. He's got 3 different things wrong. But looks

healthy as a horse! And eats like one too . He's 4 yr.'s old, and it just

kills me to take a little one into the hospital, to go under the knife !

My oldest is 6 and has had 2 surgery's so far. It's pretty stressful on me.

So I've been kind of stressed out.

He also has to have an ultrasound on his kidney's next week since he's got

some blood in his urine also.

There is no set date for the surgery, since I couldn't stand

the doc, and am going to look for another specialist.

Since he REFUSED to answer any of my questions !!!!!!

Errrrrr, I hate it when doctors do that !

Gotta run.

Be thankful if this is your one time trip and I'll say a prayer for

you and your son.

Actually this will be our 3 rd surgery.

For my children that is , not including the 2 for my husband.

Well he's got a hernia, low, and a couple of other things

that are hard to explain. No it's not serious. Thankfully.

Thank you for the concern !

I've heard from about 6 people that he is a GREAT surgeon. SOOOO I may

stick with him and just tolerate

it. Not sure yet ,, we're still checking on Doctors.

Thanks again
