Kari -- You are right -- it does sound like we have a lot in common. You

weren't the only one that requested my steak butter recipe -- so here it

is. BTW, if anyone can figure out the nutritional info on this I'd

appreciate it. Just to look at the ingredients I know it's low carb and

safe, but I'd like the exact count in my records.

I make the whole recipe and then divide it between 4 or 5 tiny little

Rubbermaid airtight plastic containers. I freeze all the containers

except the one I currently use, keeping it in the butter holder in the

refrigerator. Also, I know it says 20 servings -- but it's more like

30-40 to me. A little bit goes a long way. I grill my steak with a

little McCormick's broiled steak seasoning and then " dot " the steak with

some of the butter and let it melt on it. It's so-o-o-o-o-o-o good!

(CHESHIRE INN) STEAK BUTTER Yields 20

Servings

The Cheshire Inn and Restaurant used to be a family favorite restaurant

in St. Louis (my Mom and Dad’s hometown). Whenever they would go home or

when aunts and uncles visited us, they always brought crocks of this

steak butter home as it was a much missed St. Louis " delicacy " . The St.

Louis Post-Dispatch has a food column which prints favored recipes from

local restaurants and my Aunt Charlotte was very nice to have caught it

and send me the recipe.

2 Tbsp. prepared horseradish ½ Cup grated

onion

2 Cups (4 sticks) butter, softened 2 Tbsp. chopped

parsley

2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce ¼ tsp. Tabasco

sauce

Stir ingredients together until smooth. Keep refrigerated (or freeze)

until needed, then allow to melt over cooked steak.

+++++++++++++++++++++

32. What is your favorite low-carb meal? Steak with my special steak

butter and a salad. Mmmmmmmm!
