Guest guest
I think that the illegal Chevre is probably that soft yummy little log - a type of cheese (eg Gouda or Colby), rather than a trade name (eg Cracker Barrel or Applegate Farms). Teri Re: cheese > Looks pretty good to me, . What's it called? Can I find it at Whole Foods?+ Honestly I am not quite sure that it is ok, as it is made by La Chevre, and when I searched under the ABC list of what is allowed, it says that La Chevre is not allowed. I am quite confused. But anyways, I saw some at the local Shop Rite in New York. Any further knowledge would be very helpful. I wish I knew how to make this type of cheese, I would do it myself! Thanks, > > Teri > ----- Original Message ----- > From: aproposof > > a cheddar cheese, that lists: pasteurizes goat cheese, kosher > enzyme and salt, aged for over 60 days. Guest guest
- I think the cheese you bought is okay. I think what Teri was saying is that there is a type of cheese called chevre that is illegal but that it sounds like you bought a legal cheese by a company called Le Chevre. Does this make sense or I am the one that's totally confused? Zachary 4.4 ASD? SCD 3+ months
Guest guest
Cheese has to be aged atleast 30 days. ( It used to be 60 but the time was recently revised by Elaine after doing additional research). Enjoy! > Especially that on the Long Island list > someone mentioned that cheese has to be aged for over 6 months??? I > Carol F. --------- c.frilegh@... Guest guest
Yes, that's what I meant; you said it more clearly, . I think 's probably okay with that cheese, too, especially if introduced slowly away from other new stuff and watching for any sensitivity.
