Re: Fruit Roll-ups - ok?

The fruit roll ups are considered to be dried fruit and are introduced

later into the diet because the fruit in them is so concentrated

because the water has been dried out of them.

I understand that he won't touch the sauces or cooked fruits because

of the textures.

What about making the chicken pancakes and sneaky veggie pancakes? Or

there is also a chicken muffin recipe.

Thank you Jody. That makes sense. I am working on pancakes. I do

make the pb cookies and sneak in chicken and veggies. He seems to be

ok with the flour, but can't wait to get him to eat chicken so we can

do the intro diet! I really believe in this diet and am so thankful

to have found it - AND for the WONDERFUL support and info we get

here!!

Thank you!!

PS - does NT stand for Neurotypical?

Have you tried the chicken pancakes?

They don't contain nuts and could be used on the intro diet since they

are just chicken and eggs.

And yes, NT stands for neurotypical.

I have the same issue with - he will not eat the cooked fruit or puree.

However I am sure that the fruit leather (I used Stretch Island) contrfibuted to

a huge decline a few months ago, it was very frustrating and I eventually

reluctantly decided to use some Diflucan and Vancomycin to clear it up. Fruit

rollups have a lot of concentrated fruit sugars in them - I would hold off for

probably another six months. Sorry! Alice

Fruit Roll-ups - ok?

I have not been able to answer my question from the book or the

website. If this has been a previous question, I am sorry. But, I

have been making fruit roll ups for my 3 yr old ASD son. We have

been on the diet since November. I have not been able to do the

stages as he is soooo picky. But am trying to get him to eat SCD

legal food. I make the pear sauce, and then make the roll ups or

snacks in the dehydrator. Is that ok for the beginning stage? He

won't eat the sauce - texture issues. But the dried he will eat. (I

also make them " sneaky " , with chicken and veggies - he eats them!!)

I have noticed improvements in his stools, except for the last few

days.

Love the website, recipes, and pecanbread chat!! I read it every

day, and use the advice, tips and tricks.

Thank you all soooo much!!

Thank you Marilyn! I haven't been making the fruit for him lately.

And I am noticing some behaviors have stopped! We'll just plan on

making those further down the road. I am glad the diet is helping

you! That's funny about the wiggly kid thing - we said that about

both of my brothers.

Have fun with those Fur Children!! I have some of both (2 human

children, and 3 furry children - cats, would love a dog, but who

needs more work right now?)
