So, who would like to give me a "brief" on MRCP's- I forgot! Im ready to get prepared for it and pass on the info. to . He wont sit down and learn this computer stuff:) He's to busy out in the garage working /restoring, our new 73 formula 400 Firebird! The weather has been fantastic- almost freaky! Today its 55 out! Unreal! So hes playing! Thanks for the help in advance!

You should verify coverage with your insurance - here's Aetna's policy. Basically, they don't cover it if an ERCP is possible.

Aetna covers magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) when ANY of the following is met:

Based on the initial work-up, the patient only requires diagnosis of suspected pancreaticobiliary pathology without the need for therapeutic intervention; or Patient has undergone unsuccessful endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and requires further evaluation; or Patient has altered biliary tract anatomy that precludes ERCP (e.g., postsurgical biliary tract alterations, prior gastrectomy, choledochojejunostomy, etc.); or Patient requires evaluation for a suspected congenital anomaly of the pancreaticobiliary tract (e.g., aberrant ducts, choledochal cysts, pancreas divisum, etc.); or Patient requires definition of pancreaticobiliary anatomy proximal to a biliary tract system obstruction that can not be opened by ERCP; or Patient is an infant or young child, or is an adult who is debilitated or uncooperative in such a manner that ERCP is unsafe or can not be performed; or Patient has a documented allergy to iodine-based contrast materials, or has a general history of atopy
