Guest guest
I wanted to share something that made me feel good. This week I am in Dallas working on a school residency conference. It has been exhausting. Today, toward the end of the day I had to be the 'therapist' for a 'client' who was 16, a cutter, and who had relationship issues with her mother. It was about ethics. Anyways, the lady playing the girl gave me plenty of attitude. I automatically clicked into 'mom' mode and dealt with her calmly while at the same time as a therapist. At the end, my group facilitator told me I was 'such a mom' and handled her so naturally. I was so excited. I am getting certified in child play therapy. I will be working with challenged children mainly. The whole group gave me comments about how natural I was dealing with children, even problem ones. I felt like laughing. It was good. My son has had issues in the past so I have worked hard in learning how to deal with almost anything. All that is paying off with a great son and great practice for my future career. God is good. He has led me to the niche I belong in. maryruth
