a.m. Friday at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave.,

Mentor.

Funeral services for D. Bruce Sodee M.D., 76, of Kirtland Hills, will be 11

a.m. Friday at Brunner Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 8466 Mentor Ave.,

Mentor.

Dr. Sodee died May 12, 2007, at University Hospital in Cleveland.

Born Nov. 17, 1930, in Canton, he had lived in Kirtland Hills for the past

34 years.

Bruce was a graduate of the University of Michigan (and proud Wolverine) and

the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. He completed his

internship and residency at Walter Army Hospital, where he specialized

in nuclear medicine.

Bruce moved to the Cleveland area in 1964, and continued practicing nuclear

medicine throughout his career most recently in the department of Radiology,

Division of Nuclear Medicine at the University Hospitals Case Medical

Center. Bruce was a frequent lecturer, trainer, author and co-author of many

publications as well as several textbooks on nuclear medicine technology and

procedures.

Active in the community, Bruce served as chairman of the Lake County Council

of Governments, as councilman and President of Council with the Village of

Kirtland Hills and as chairman of the Community Activities Committee for the

Village of Kirtland Hills. Bruce was also an avid gardener who was known to

bring plants from his yard to share with his friends and co-workers. Bruce

was an avid reader and also retired Major from the U.S. Army.

Survivors are his wife of 36 years, ne Sodee; son, Don () Sodee

of South Lyon, Mich.; daughters, Michele (fiance, Ed Cyrek) Sodee of Medina

and ne Sodee of Mentor; granddaughter, Ashleigh Sodee; and many other

loving family members, close friends, valued colleagues and all those whose

life he touched.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will

be in Mentor Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made

to Hope Ridge United Methodist Church, 9870 nycake Ridge Road, Concord

Township, OH 44060.
