Hi ,

As you know very well, you are not being self indulgent......life is a

b*****d at times and you have had too many bouts of bad luck recently. I

don't know whether its of any help but when I first started having problems

15 years ago now, I would say that the first 5 years was the worst because,

like you, it seemed to be one thing followed by another and just kept going

on and on. 10 years down the line things have settled a bit more and the

gaps between flares of anything are much longer...........its just the

dreaded fatigue that gets me more than anything. So in a long winded way

I'm saying that I think that you may have a bit of light at the end of the

tunnel......its just not right now!

I'm going through an emotional phase too at the moment because my stamina

and fatigue are getting worse to the point I can't really hack it going out

and selling my work on shows. I can manage doing mail order, so that's what

I'm concentrating on and in the meantime after 16 years of my hubby and I

working together he's got a job back working in horseracing (his first

love!!!) and that means he'll be away during the week, so I'm finding that a

bit of an adjustment in all sorts of ways.

I suppose the worst thing is that although I've come to terms with my

limitations this has really shoved it in my face.

I'll deal with it, I've just got to go through the weepy phase first and

hopefully I'll read this in a weeks time and feel thoroughly embarrassed.

Keep strong.

Sally. UK.

Need a good moan .....sorry

Morning Everyone

Sorry to be such whinge bag, but I need a place to let off some

steam, and this is the place for me.

I woke up this morning at 3.30 pm with severe diahorrea and

sickness, dreadful headache, earache and toothache, and the flank

pain well......letting me know it is here. I realise this is a

viral thing I have picked up AGAIN, as hubby was off sick last week

with the very same, but here is the rub, with it my whole waterworks

has let me down again, so now back to catheters and back to see my

GP, or rather he is coming here as I cannot safely drive, or be away

from the you know what.

Also my legs are very swollen as his my abdomen, hence why my GP is

coming out, more concerned about this than anything else.

I guess I am being self indulgent in the pity stakes, and pretty fed

up with one week well, 3 weeks not, I KNOW I KNOW, part of the

course, but I do seem to have more than my fair share.

All I have had from family members is go to bed and take a

paracetemol, which leads me to the benefit of this group, family

members (well most) simply do not understand what it is like to feel

constantly sick, trying to remain cheerful and positive, and TODAY I

do not feel like doing that, hence my moan to all my supportive

friends.

A blip today, promise to be back to my normal self tomorrow.

Feel better already now I have bashed my keyboard to death.

Thanks

I'm so sorry to hear that you are having a rough time right now. I

really feel for you. Must be terrible to have all of the symptoms you

described. Hope you get well soon.

Darn it , You have had your share of illness lately. We have had so

many kids in the US with the flu that several weeks ago, many schools closed

for 2-3 days because flu/illness was almost an epidemic. You said that your

GP is coming to your home? That is really a good thing considering your

situation. In this area many GP's have done away with doing " house calls " .

If I remember, you have some trouble with the urinary tract as well, is that

the reason for a catheter? Hope tomorrow brings you sunshine and recovered

health! Keep us posted. Connie, USA

Hi Sally

Thank you so much for your message, I now feel thoroughly ashamed of

myself. You have had a rotten time of it over the years, and of course

we have chatted about it. I am feeling a bit brighter this afternoon

and reassured by my GP (who by the way girls is a bit of hunk..for those

of you in the UK he looks like Phil Vickery Ready Steady Cook Chef), but

better looking in my opinion, and has the most wonderful bedside manner.

My husband takes the chronic mickey out of me because he reckons if I

had an ingrowing toenail my GP would examine my chest LOL, it is just

that everytime he sees me just lately he has to listen to my lungs etc.

hence off with the kit LOL!!!! Anyway antibiotics prescribed and REST,

goddamnit much more rest and I shall take root !!!

As you can see I am feeling better, I slept most of the morning and have

managed to keep down some toast, but otherwise weak as a kitten.

I am sorry you are having such a rough time Sally, and if I can be of

any help please call me, don't get lonely on your own, do you still have

my number?

Take care and thanks.

Hi Connie

Thank you very much for your message, as you will see from my message to

Sally I am feeling a bit brighter. Yes my GP does still do housecalls

especially to mine it would seem, we live quite a way out from surgery

so to drive makes it difficult to get to the surgery unless my husband

is free.

Yes I do have problems with my urinary tract and that is the reason for

the catheters, it seems some viruses just affect all of me, and that is

the first sign of trouble ahead.

Thanks for the lovely message Connie.

Hey Marty

Indeed pretty miserable right now, but perking up. Marty thank you so

much for your message to me, I do appreciate it. I didn't mean to hog

the board with messages on my self pity quest, I just wanted to vent, so

as I have said many times to others, that is what the board is for, so I

took a leaf out of my own book LOL.

Hope your well and progressing nicely.

Thanks again.

Best wishes

Glad you're feeling a little perkier . You're lucky for one thing. GPs

haven't done house calls here since I was a child - which was in the early

1960's.

Hi Pierre

Great to hear from you, how are you ok? Blimey I am lucky in getting a

housecall then, although I have to say I know of two other practices

that do it, whether they are so graceful about it as my surgery, I don't

know, but I for one am most appreciative (and the fact he is so yummy

makes it even better, and takes the edge off feeling so crappy!!).

Will write to you privately later in the week to catch up ok?

Oh !!

I cannot believe you have been hit again!! You seem to have had more than

your share lately. I am so sorry to hear you are feeling so miserable once

again. It is perfectly awful to feel so under the weather isn't it.

I am glad you were able to share your frustrations with us, and to hear by

your later emails that you are feeling better this afternoon.

Please, take it easy, rest, relax and feel 100% back to normal soon!

Hey , The part about the chest made me think of a story from my

sister-in law. This is not a joke, this is the truth. She was going to

the GYNO for a checkup because, she thought that she had some kind of lump

in her breast. After her Doctor did the exam, she looked at him and said,

um, " would you mind doing that again " ?, she said that he stopped, looked up

at her and then gave her a grin as he said, " if you really want me to " , she

then said that she realized how what she said sounded to him. She said that

she could feel her face getting red and that she could feel the red

traveling all the way down her chest! She covered her face and said, just

do the exam again to make sure there is no problem. She said she couldn't

look at him through the rest of the appointment. When I see her at family

functions, I usually have to ask her about her Mr Doctor, " um, would you

mind doing that again " and I had to laugh when I was typing this...Connie,
