Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have not posted much latly but have been keeping up with all of you by being a " lurker " ! I want to share a resent incident with you that happened to my LO. Don has been going further onto that Lewy Train as of late with increases in hullucinations that sometimes keep us up all day and all night, well keeps me up all day and all night, he sleeps inbetween LOL. I did take him home to Alaska the last week of May and first of June and that went fairly well. On return he really went into the hullci. and I took him in to see if he had a UTI or something. Well he told the nurse he had pain of 9 on a scale of 1 to 10. He has complained of pain all over his body from head to toe so I had put it off as coming from the way he sits, walks etc and was just cramping up. The Dr. (thank goodness I have a GREAT Dr. for him!) really started questioning him as to where the worst pain was and it was in his hip join. CLICK .... He had been in a really bad car accident before we were married, maybe 40 years ago? and had been in traction in hospital for a time due to something broken in his hip. Bottom line, Dr. gave him a cortisone shot and within 20 to 30 min. he was out of most of the pain. Hullucinations have GREATLY decreased, he is sleeping through the night (so am I) and he is doing so much better. So a lesson to me that I will ask more questions when he complains of pain! Also good news, a new support group has started in Ft (the first LBD support group in CO) and Don and I joined them for there 3rd meeting last Sat. Most of the group are also members or past members of this group. What a wonderful experience for both Don and me. Don got to meet another man with LBD and to be asked about what the hullci and other symtoms were like for them in an open and loving setting. What a blessing this is. I'm not saying that Don is back off that LBD train but the brake has been applied a little bit! Hello to all the new members and I know you will greatly appreciate this group as the support and information are a God send and the caring and love just comes leaping off the computer screen right when you need it the most! I will try and be more availble to the group as I see many may be taking some needed time off. That thing about maybe what they are talking about is true and maybe not is so hard when they are ill. Glad the shot helps everyone sleep. I spent lots of nights up while Mom slept or not!
