Ron:

Man, I can relate! My dad is an 85-year-old retired electronics/aerospace

engineer and he has meticulous records on everything. He has identified

many of his key supplement and medicine regimens by his love of science and

life " as experiment " . He too has a " bit of the PCa " but is more in the

" watchful waiting " or " active surveillance " camp.

I truly enjoy the contributions all you engineers make to the world of PCa

with the charts, calculations, formulas, and graphing. We are a lucky bunch

of cancer guys to have the multi-disciplinary approaches going on here.

Hi,

I'm a retired Electronics Engineer.

I thought it was rather funny to read in Dr. Sheldon Marks Book,

" Prostate and Cancer: A Family Guide to Diagnosis, Treatment and

Survival " , that Dr. Marks couldn't understand why all these engineers

were coming into his office with tons of spread sheets, graphs,

charts, and personal databases of their prostate histories.

Perhaps engineers have more access to computers, or they are more

analytical, but many of my engineering friends are also members of

the Prostate Cancer Club. Maybe we breathed in too much solder, or

something. :-)

By the way, I would whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Marks' Book.

My current status:

PSA 6.4

Gleason 6 or 7 depending who's reading it.

5% of one of 18 cores bad

Current decision: get another PSA in a month, and another biopsy

several months down the road. Eventually, if things get worse, a

perineal prostatectomy performed by a Duke University trained

Urologist.
