Hi Marjan,

I'll check this out with Elaine and get back to you.

Sheila, SCD 35 mos UC 20 yrs

mom of SCD 20 mos

We managed to get a hold of what seems very pure cream of tartar. It

looks like

small crystals. Manufacturers especially use this ingredient so that

they DO NOT have to use starch.

1. Is cream of tartar officially illegal because of the suspected

additions in the US? We do not have that issue here.

2. It does come from a very reliable source. Still illegal?

Hi Marjan,

From Elaine, " I was told by Dr. Haas not to use cream of tartar....> Just don't

use anything when in doubt. We can live without it. "

From Sheila: Are you looking for something to stabilize foods. Yesterday, I

whipped up 4 egg whites and added about 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice. It

really did seem to make a difference. Also, using a copper bowl to whip egg

whites in also helps stabilize whites. I hopes this helps.
