Hi , I got my DMSA pills from several sources, but I used Captomer, made by Thorne Research. Does anyone know if a history of hair colour would disrupt the heavy metal hair analysis? I know that hair colour contains some heavy metals... Yes, it can. I had to have some regrowth before I could do my hair

analysis. You don't want hair products on your hair either.

Katy,

They recommend you allow your hair to grow out a bit and cut it as

close to the scalp as possible so it isn't tainted by hair color.

For this reason, I took mine from " underneath " near the neck line.

They also want you to list all shampoos and mark if you color your

hair.

I can't remember exactly how much they needed...an ounce maybe. And

they give you a little measuring device to make sure you get enough

for them to test. At least this is what Doctors Data wanted.

Kenda, I colour my own hair; however, I use the one without the peroxide in it. My doctor told me that it is okay, but I might have to go blonde or be normal and have grey hair! I have never had my nails done, never had a facial, or anything else...just implants. I see my hairdresser once a year for a blunt cut...same hairdresser for 30 years.

Thanks , Wow, this really goes to show that everything we put in and ON our bodies affects us!! Is the hair test the standard way to test for heavy metals? The other way to test would be with elimination and challenge -

totally eliminate the food, including trace amounts, for 4 days and
