Guest guest
Hi , I think that's pretty normal, but the main thing that I found was not to over indulge in my cravings and I tried not to put on any additional weight before surgery by sticking to mostly healthier choices (no fried foods, etc.)

Guest guest
nancy The same way I felt I ate a lot of last meals but the truth is you'll likely be able to eat alot of those last meals again just not like before You're not strange its very very very normal Indulge if you like but try not to get weight as it can affect the liver and thus your surgery .. my surgeon said have your last meal just don't binge for a few weeks before surgery of you can jeopardize it. For example I went out for dinner last night to Chilis. I had 1 small shrimp fajita with fixings, rice, black beans, and I tried a bit of southwestern eggrolls .. and had a glass of zinfandel. I just had a few sips of the drink and some bites of the food. A taste of everything and I was very very satisfied. lyssa 236/145/130 From: JoesRavyn@... Hi all you post-ops! I was just wondering if any of you ran into the same problem I seem to be having pre-op....now that I know everything is going to happen, and soon, I feel like I should eat things that I know I won't be able to have " on the other side " ...am I strange or have others gone through this as well?? And now I can eat those things I thought I could never have again, although I don't want to eat the fried stuff anymore because I'm doing so good I don't want anything to ruin it for me. and I want not only to be a normal weight but I want to be healthy also so now I have a much easier time staying away from the bad stuff. Don't get me wrong, I'm not perfect but I'm doing really good. Good luck to the both of you. Hope I get to meet you at our next get together on the 27th. Guest guest
Hi Guys, Did any of you have trouble with your back after your surgery? MY back aches all day now....and not in the normal place it used to. I thought after I lost weight my back pain would go away but I have this dull ache in the middle of my back...kind of directly on the other side of my incision. I used to take advil for my lower back pain and it used to take care of it...but this upper back pain just wont go away. Anybody have any ideas? Guest guest
, YES!! I had some wicked pain following my surgery in my back, and believe it or not it was a wicked case of indigestion! My Dr. gave me Pepcid AC, and it really helped a lot! I don't know why it'd hurt there, but the Pepcid did the trick for me. Guest guest
, How far out are you? Dawn Question From: MJEPR@... Ok, this sounds weird, I know, but I'm think I'm feeling too good. When I first came home, 1/3 of a chicken breast was too much to eat, but tonight I ate around two ounces plus a small potato and 1/2 cup of carrots (all blended). I seem to be eating less but I'm not getting that " Thanksgiving " full feeling. I know I'm not eating as slowly as I should BUT I'm also not getting sick. I did take the scale out from under my bed and I'm not losing weight as quickly as I think I should (probably 12-15 pounds since surgery). I feel like my pouch is stretched out already or something like that and I'm feeling like the surgery isn't working. Is this normal? HELP! ---------------------------

Guest guest
some days I seem to eat all day and other days no appetite .. there are days I'm sure I've stretched out my pouch too much and then then next day I feel ok again .. I'm sure you are normal and it is working. Our pouches do stretch a bit but I'd be very surprised if you had it go that much so soon. As for eating less and not feeling totally full I think that is normal because our stomachs get used to the food ... in the early days everything is so new that anything going into the tummy is felt and reacted to. Thats my take on it anyway no scientific backing or anything just the ramblings of a lonely housewife LOL! Lyssa Question From: MJEPR@... Guest guest
yes I've had back pain .. mine is upper though and alot of discomfort around the ribs .. I still get it from the time to time and I have no clue why. If its that bad I'd check in with the doctor. When I went for my physical on Monday I asked my pcp about the theory that as we lose the fat our muscles, backs etc might hurt more because we don't have that fat holding it up and helping it out .. and the muscles are working harder than before on their own now .. she just laughed at me. I thought it made sense lol. She didn't answer though just laughed. Ok .. ok .. back to my corner. As for ideas I'd still say go to a doctor but meanwhile do you have a heating pad? or a soak in the tub? just to try and help it a bit til you get medical attention?
