Guest guest
You are welcome, Topper! It is very informative, isn't it? It also explained differences in muscle groups for exercises I knew to perform but didn't really understand what it was targeting specifically (such as a biceps curl vs. a scott curl). Guest guest
Once you learn the value of isolation... working the minor muscles can give you an immense boost in strength and basal metabolism without producing the bulk that so many women avoid.... When I was driving truck I did a lot of lifting, feed sacks and such.. So.. I'm the only girl on the crew and new guys just had this attitude, female driver? and SHE'S gonna train ME in? nuh uh.... well.. I learned the best way to show the guys that I could do the job and knew my stuff was this stupid stunt.. and it worked EVERYTIME, without fail! We'd go out to the loading dock and I'd point to a pallet of feed, 50 pound sacks. We had to hand load the feed onto the truck to be able to get as much product on as possible, to get this route done in a smaller truck. The guy is still standing there all macho and attitudinal, yeah, okay... So then I'd stand there and ask, so sweetly: 'Would you like to catch or throw?' Every single solitary time the guy would say that he wanted to catch... every one of them thinking that I'd never be able to lift the sack let alone throw it to him.... (see we had about a five foot span between the pallet and where the second person would be standing to stack in the truck, if you got a good team you could just throw the sacks instead of both people having to walk back and forth and back and forth.. you could do the job in one third the time). I'd pick up the sack and turn and swing in the same motion, you use the momentum of it to propel the sack.... the other person should merely guide the bag, using the momentum to move it to position. I knocked every one of them on their butt! I used my head to understand the physics that could be used to complete the task and the muscle that I'd gained through body building to perform that task... it was actually the minor chest muscles that let me do it... People know about working the upper pecs... but working the lower pecs and the upper chest and front of the shoulders too made the difference and gave me upper body strength that many of the guys never matched. After that, the guys listened to me... I showed them the tricks that I'd learned to make the job easier, but proved that I had what it took to do the job, I wasn't just a token... My blonde hair never helped, I was always stereotyped... female AND blonde. You know.. life is learning the tricks to make it easier..... heheheheheh we're turning tricks here!!!! heheheheheheh heheheheheh oh my!!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!! Guest guest
That is awesome! The way you pick something up has a lot to do with it... and as you said, strenghtening some muscles guys don't remember to. I can pick up and carry 2 six-packs of 2-liter sodas (just 11lb, but I am barely 5'2 " so it doesn't look like I can carry 2 sodas. LOL) up 3 flights of stairs. When I told my husband he didn't believe it, cause he'd only thought of 2 ways to carry that, one up on each shoulder, or holding the plastic around them, one on each hand. I showed him I simply put both of them on top of my forearms, one on top of the other, so I can walk without losing my balance like I would with the big packs on my small shoulders, or need strenght in my hands to do it. And he got As in Physics, haha.
