Guest guest
dont talk to me about vets, a recent experience, My daughter has a horse and wanted to sell,(boys are the new pet) 15/4 irish D X belgian warmblood, approx 4-5 years old. anyway advertised and a gal from manchester took it on trial, loved it but her vet, indicated that it may have navicular bone disease,What is that I hear u say(nat the vet)a degenerating bone condition. I contact my vet (a good guy) and say this guy in manchester says Navicular B.D. the implications are that I will not be able to sell the animal and will have to care for it indefinitely. He says that he saw no sign of this on the initial vetting prior to purchase. anyway to cut it short, I pay the guy in manchester, 5-600 quid to do nerve blocks and x-rays and a report, the report comes out confirming Nav.B.D. I ask the guy to send all x-rays and reports to my vet, for continuation of tX, my vet takes a look at it and says no navicular B.D 2 conflicting pictures and I am out 600 + quid and I still have the horse Is there anywhere/anyone I can contact to seek advice on this. I have thought of sending the X-rays and reports to the Vet school in liverpool but that will cost me an arm/leg/hoof. A pissed off horse owner denis _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=

Guest guest
Denis as horse owners are well known for not paying vet bills on time sounds like pay back time. try the knackers yard you must have some good contacts in your other line of business. I am sure you could sell it on to a restaurant we know that does a £5 special in bromsgrove... talking of your other business, do you have a no lift policy, which means you call an ambulance if one of your old dears fall over in the night. Guest guest
> talking of your other business, do you have a no lift policy, which means > you call an ambulance if one of your old dears fall over in the night. If that's meant as sarcasm then we share a common bond. I'm getting sick to death of driving on 30 mile 999 calls to pick an un injured elderly person off the floor because the care home has a no lifting policy. One thing they do is call me out saying the person may be injured. So when I get there I do a real long 150% exam then say nope this person is not injured and does not want to go to hospital. over to you bye bye. That really gets up their nose. Guest guest
Have you taken this issue up with a Veterans Service Representative? Let me know where you are and I'll find out if there is a Chapter of the Vietnam Vets of America in your area! Contact them and find out what can be done. This has to be proven from his military records, but it IS a service connected disability that should be pursued. LeighAnn

Guest guest
First thing you need to do is get a copy of his entire military medical file. Write a letter to your Congressperson asking for these files. You must include a copy of his DD214 (separation form), dates of service, last unit, and his SSN. He MUST sign the letter. Be very specific in your request, asking for inpatient & outpatient reports, clinic notes, lab results, test results, hospital stay reports. While you are at it, ask for his Official Personnel File (OPF) as well. This will show you everything from his initial enlistment to his very last orders to exit the military. If you try to get these yourself, it will take up to 4 months or longer. Your Congressperson can get them in about 4 weeks. Also, call the local office and introduce yourself to the staff there. They will also be able to assist you and you want them to know who you are. Once you get these you will most likely have to put them in date order. Mine were all a mess when I got them. Also, make a 2nd copy and never give away your copy. Make a copy of everything you do pertaining to his VA stuff. Someone at the Veterans Center will be able to help him get his claim going. They will have to ensure that this is a service connected disability so lots of paperwork needs to be done. BUT DON'T LET HIM GIVE UP BECAUSE OF THAT! There are 2 Veterans Centers in Utah: Provo: 750 North 200 West, Suite 105, Provo, UT 84601 Phone: 801-377-1117 Salt Lake City: 1354 E. 3300 South Salt Lake City, UT 84106 Phone: 801-584-1294 Fax: 801-487-6243 Here is the link to the Utah Veterans page with many more links that may help you. If I can help you more, just holler ok? LeighAnn

Guest guest
All this talk of vets.... Had to take my cat to the vet the other day as he had a squint - vet picked him up and had a good look and then hit me with " sorry Tim, I'm going to have to put him down " . I said come on, it's only a squint, why do you need to put him down? " because he's bloody heavy " came the reply...... Sorry - best I can come up with - just finished a tough trip... Guest guest
Jeepers my cats have been talking to me for years, i just can't understand the little furry devils, mind you their body language is quite easy to read. It would be nice to be able to speak in animal languages though, imagine a squaddie crawling through a field comes across Rupert wabbit and asks him hey mate take a butchers through that hedge over there and tell me if there are any opposition about, it makes for a totally new use for the RAVC. Mind you Woopert wabbit has usually got a commission and is carrying a map heading in the wrong direction leading a load of overloaded very unhappy squaddies behind him. How the hell do people get their cats to take medication anyway, i always end up with most of it on my hands and face and bleeding from multiple dagger wounds, but I do love those little furry b*****ds Re: Vets >Rod, >You know they are getting great results now adays with shock therapy! > >Cheers > >Tom > > >> Is that the same medication that I give to the cat as I have used >it up. >> It works really well as the cat now talks to me. >> Thanks mate! >> >> Napoleon >> >> Vets >> > > > >> > > > >> > > > > Are there any vets in the group? Guest guest
I know of those hospitals from some of my friends in both Kansas and Missouri. I have friends that still do various things for the Long Beach Vet hospital. They go in to help with bingo, do BBQs for them and many other things to help those hospitalized vets out. I am starting to hear stories from them about some of the returning vets from the Iraq front. I was drafted in 1966 and had no number except for the service number that I was given when I got in. Great news there about the second opinion. Dick At 07:36 PM 1/10/05, you wrote: Hey Dick,we have two fine VA hospital's here in Kansas City also, one in Leavenworth Kansas, one in Kansas City. When I was an Explorer Scout, one of the volunteer things we did was push beds at the VA in Long Beach Calif. Every Monday night was movie night and we would push the bed ridden Vet's to the movie theater to see a movie. It was fun and I saw a lot of movie's in the late 70's.I saw the Frazier Ali fight there. I was also eligible for the last draft they held for Vietnam. I remember sitting in front of the TV watching to see if my number came up.It didn't and I was glad because I don't think I would have made a good Soldier. Anyway, those of us who are lucky or blessed with decent health care should feel very good about that. My insurance company called me and told me to get a second opinion and gave the names of several DR's to see.

Guest guest
Trip to SLC was fun. Met a lot of vets. No problems with flights either way. Fairly decent hotel. Great food in SLC. Doing good here. Still behind in emails and paperwork. Looks like tx might start on the 26th. Dick At 09:36 PM 1/13/05, you wrote: Hey Dick!
