I started on Viagra, got The Headache and had to switch to Cialis. Last year's insurance carrier was not as responsive as Mr. McCartney's - basically it was "So sad, too bad," so my Doctor was obliged to provide me with a bunch of sample packs. This year, I'm allowed 4 doses per month, so my Doc prescribed the maximum dosage and told me to cut them in half. Additionally, he prescribed Muse (urethral suppository - which would be awesome if I was into pain) for which I'm also allowed 4 doses per month, AND a VED. The VED is on its way, and I hope (**maybe somebody could share their experience on this**) that the pain from the Muse was from the medication and not the actual capillary action. If the

pain (which feels like hitting your thumb with a hammer) is related to the capillary acion, I'm figuring this project is going to require some self-medication...

I ran into the same thing only my Doc. prescribed Viagra in a low dose. I called my insurance company first,talked to a couple people and finally got someone up on this. She told me to just have the hospital submit a request for this as part of the recovery process rather than a sexual aid and it would be approved with no problem. For me the side affects of Viagra were intolerable so I didn't actually continue with it and I'm doing well without it. I'd suggest spending some time on the phone with your insurance carrier, they are far more understanding than you might think when dealing with an actual illness.

I would also suggest this: get your doc to write a 'letter of medical necessity'

and provide it to the insurance company. If the doc highlights the fact the

perscription is not to assist with ED but as a healing method, it might work?

My insurance company doesnt cover it either....

$50 for a months supply.... 2 pills a week.!!!!
