Hi Carol,

Welcome to the group and for sharing this information. It is true that each

individual is different. It is my opinion that because we are all different,

it makes it very hard for doctors to tell patients what to eat and what not

to eat. What my doctor told me did not work for me. I had to work out my

own plan. I think most doctors do the best they can under the circumstances.

As long as we keep our numbers under control, that is all that matters. It

doesn't matter how we do it. Just because something works for me, doesn't

mean it will work for you. This group is for sharing and discussing

information, offering congratulations, sympathy, advice and even the

off-topic subjects, sometimes. This group is not for everyone and that is

fine. It is for me and I'm staying. I enjoy the friendship, the jokes (as

long as there are no off-color jokes), everything about the list.

Keep sharing information.

Long - Re: Ruth's email on December 10 about UK diabetics

" I know this was posted quite a while ago, but I thought as a UK diabetic I

would stress that Ruth's way of treating her diabetes (which obviously works

well for her and I'm really pleased it does) is no longer followed by some

clinics.

Carol,

Thanks for the info. I, too, am glad her program seems to be working well for

her. However it would not work well for me! I think she believes her doctor's

way is the only way and we all know that is not true. I had to restrain myself

from telling her how far out-dated he seemed to me, I got off meds and use

low-carb to stay off,
