We don't have to email you privately, all messages sent to the list are received and read by all the members on this list. Why don't you start out by telling us a little something about yourself. I was recently diagnosed with Type II Diabetes and am doing pretty well taking Glucophage. I live in Hollywood CA with my 'family' of 5 Yorkshire Terriers. They actually let me live here and take care of them. I'm originally from Pensacola, FL but have lived all over the world since my father was in the Navy and we travelled with him. I remember when I first joined this list, unknown to me at the time my first couple of messages were delayed and since I was unable to wait til they showed up I chose one person on the list to write to privately. A lot of pent up anxiety and frustration came out in that letter. I have since become very good friends with her. However, since then this list has become like an extended family. This is a support group, a group of friends, a family all rolled into one. We all have the common denominator, diabetes. we all have a life beyond this disease and there is common ground there as well. Feel free to write us as a group because we are all individuals within this group. We listen, we hear what is said. We have a deep understanding of what others are feeling. We can offer a helping hand or just an ear to hear and a heart that goes out to everyone. We offer praise, sympathy, whatever is needed. So, hope you will join in and know we are there for you.
