Guest guest
Hi, Vickie....... I had a lumpectomy in August '99. The margins were not clear and I was given the choice of taking a larger lumpectomy or having a mastectomy. I chose the mastectomy, and it's a good thing I did as we barely got clear margins on that. I followed up with chemo...no radiation. Two years later I faced the same thing in the other breast . If I'd had a lumpectomy, the doctors would have insisted on radiation whether it was cancer or not, just to be on the safe side. I opted for the mastectomy again, and fortunately, it was not cancerous this time....but I'm now a symmetrical 40AAA concave!!!
