Is right I was one who had free floating silicone and was positive

for silicone in my breast tissue on my pathology report.In my

supposed safe saline implants. I had to go back for a second surgery

to removed residual capusle that was left behind at explant because

it was thought that it didn't need to be removed, it is very

important to remove capsules peiod. I am living proof, my DR. that

did remove the capsule found BLUE NODULES and free floating silicone

and had to do what she calls alot of dissecting, She is the chief of

surgery and mostly deals with cancer patients.

I am glad I had my capsules removed even though I had saline. I

didn't want anything in my body that might contain anything related

to the implants - actually Dr. Feng believes the capsules must be

removed if you're symptomatic and I used her, so there wasn't an

issue. Each doctor does have slightly different opinions, but if I

were to use a doctor who didn't think salines needed capsule

removal, I'd ask them to remove them for my own peace of mind.

Yes, but we still don't know why women are getting sick.

My capsules were tested and found totally clear-- no silicone, no nothing. I've had a platinum test, a mercury test, a silicone sensitivity test, a comprehensive mold tests-- all negative. My ANA level has never been high. All my tests have been normal, with the exception of cortisol, and later when I was retested it was normal. Yet I was sicker than most people get, and it started almost immediately after implantation.

It’s frustrating not to know what, exactly, is making us sick. If we knew, it would change everything. It’s complex, isn’t it!

I found Dr. Blais’ comment interesting– that the body is responding to the implant by creating an abscess, and that is why we have symptoms.

And since there is silicone found in the capsules which

are " external " to the implant, ...then it stands to reason there is

silicon leaking into the saline of the implant. Right?

And if there is absolutely any osmosis or permeability issues with

the implant, then silicone is leaking.

I now regret tossing out my implants and my capsules.

I think it was also Dr. Blais...who used the analogy of a bullet

wound and breast implants. We will always have an affect of some

kind from " the wound " . Kind of a horrid way to think about it...but

very true.

I agree with what he wrote.... Except think of Saline that is defective, with mold, fungi and bacteria leaking slowly into that capsule? I think important to remove if you look at it like that... I am not bashing but does Dr. Melmed believe Saline implants make women sick or just silicone?
