Actually, I think Elaine's opinion on the glycerin is that she doesn't think the

small amount that is in the vanilla or some supplements is a problem..... but

that she is uncomfortable with larger amounts being used as a base for pancake

syrups and the like. You might want to check with her, Carol. Or search back in

the archives at Lyris?

Re: Pancake syrup??

I warm up strawberries or blueberries with honey. I sometimes add orange juice

to honey. I also use Frontier vanilla which contains glycerine but is alcohol

free. You know I prefer this to the taste of conventional illegal pancake

syrups we used to use.

My dd's favorite and my invention is posted at pecanbread.com in the

recipes:

Mock Maple Syrup

by Carey

1/2 cup glycerin

1 1/2 cup water

1 tsp Frontier Maple flavor

1 tsp Frontier Vanilla flavor

Mix and put in a bottle with a very small opening.

This is watery but very tasty and you only need a small amount.

I don't feel comfy with 1/2 cup of glycerin. the legal frontier flavorings

only have a timy bit.

What do others say about this?

I don't want to cause waves, but I recall Elaine telling me that she

would not give a child with asd the frontier maple flavoring. I

can't remember which ingredient was the problem, but she definitely

discouraged me from using it.
