Thanks, Dede, it has been a challenge. He is 46 years old, so has a

long time to deal with it. And Worker's Compensation has been

absolutely awful. He won his SS Disability 5 months ago, finally.

Thanks, Lea. It is disconcerting to wait on doctors to get to your

relatives. Especially when they are in pain.

I had a off and on sleep last night. Right now I need a shower and

to check with the hospital.

I know sometimes the challenges we have are more than we think we can handle, but somehow we get through it. I am glad he is now getting disability. How long has he had it? Do they know what started his? You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I am going to get that packet I have and re-read about it so as to re-educate myself.

Dede,

It is the darndest thing, they are pumping him

full of antibiotics, releasing him and doing

another endoscopy before they decide what to

do. He is majorly frustrated. Releasing him,

and he has to come back in a few days.

That is frustrating . . . I wonder if they're hesitant to cut into him with the presense of infection there? Is he able to swallow now? I know you're recommending probiotics . .. but I wonder if his doctors are? Yep, too much swelling and infection. And who knows what else.

He won't take probiotics.

He will eat yogurt.

Wow, this is next to insane, but like everything, things happen for a reason. It could be if he remained in that hospital at this time, something wouldnt go quite as expected. Perhaps the angels are lifting him out of harms way. This happened to me with my heart on 2 occasions at the hospital. Pretty scarey, huh? I believe God is with you all and will keep him safe.

Somehow, he needs to just trust and sit back and breathe and let God deal with the frustration. He doesnt need to deal with the negative energy of frustration right now. There are alot of major blood vessels in and around the area of the throat, also, when you go into an abcess, you have a great risk of the toxins releasing into areas that are a danger. He could become septic, very dangerous. Sending lots of prayer and love ~ DedeAOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com.

I forgot to mention the probiotics, they are very important for him right now, especially if he is on something strong like vancomycin, it will end your normal flora of your entire digestive system. Oh Dear Lynda, Yogurt will only scratch the surface after the amount of antibiotics he's getting! . . . I wish we had him in this group! . .. It might take a while, but he'd welcome them when he understands what's going on! Give him a hug for us! Rogene

Dede,

He was injured, tore a tendon, and when they did

surgery, I think they pinched a nerve and it

probably started from that. It is now in all 4 quadrants of his body.

Yep, I know the feeling well! . . . LOL! Hubby keeps asking me why my daughter doesn't do this or that . . . They are complete opposites . .. She's a people person, he's very organized... She can understand him, but he doesn't have a clue about her. Life is about lessons! . .. IMHO, that's why we're here! Rogene

Lynda ~

I worked in dermatology for 14 years. We did abcesses often. Some we sent to general surgeons. I am sure part of the reason for the wait in surgery is to not cause the infection to spread, and perhaps to shrink it some for safer removal. There is huge risk of the infection spreading into his system if the cyst is ruptured during surgery. They are being safe for themselves and in turn safe for your son. They dont want to take the risk of rupture, for CYA reasons, as well as , in the best interest of your sons health. His health is already compromised by the RSD/CRPS. You all are in my prayers. They may want to follow progression of shrinkage of the abcess, and go in there just as soon as it is small enough. They are probably to scared to do the surgery right now. The risk might be too big for them........it is better to keep testing than to risk a doc nervously going in and screwing up. God is guiding this one...........trust..........Prayers and love ~ DAOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com.

Lea, do you know what kind of tumor they are thinking it may be? It should have shown up on CT, but I have had many MRI's that havent shown tumors I had, that should have shown up. I am glad they are being careful. Blessings and Love ~ DAOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at AOL.com.

Lynda, that test is painful. I would be frustrated too, my doctors have done this to me, and I get so angry. Why can't they do the surgery while he is on antibiotics...wonders me.

Sending love and support to you both....Lea

Lea,

I guess the CT Scan did not show them what they

needed, so they have to do more tests.

Wish they would figure it out, he drives me nuts.

Dede,

They are wondering if it may be a tumor

instead. Abscess did not show up on CT Scan.
