I've said in the past, like too, that because protein and Hematuria are nearly always present in the urine with IGA, the GP should always grow a culture before giving antibiotics, to make sure an infection is present. This is because for the " normal " person blood and protein present in the urine is not the norm and indicates an infection/UTI. I have had UTI symptoms and sometimes had a UTI and other times not......its been inflammation of the urinary tract and bladder, like described the other day. Sally.
