Then click on the " beyond the intro diet " and you will find the stages listed. cece intro diet > I am planning on starting my son on the SCD next week and have a few > questions. Guest guest
Denny, <<From my understanding for the first 2-3 days my son should only have meats, broth, and honey? >> The intro diet includes pureed carrots. <<The book said that " When fruits are introduced, after a week or two, they should be ripe, peeled and cooked. " Does the same hold true for vegetables also?>> All veggies should be cooked in the beginning. <<Should I wait a few weeks before introducing cooked veggies?>> ?? No... as I noted, carrots are used from the beginning. Check the stages chart for what to introduce after the intro diet. <<The book notes eggs should only be introduced after " brisk diarrhea is no longer present " .>> Please remember that the book was intended for people with gut disorders like IBD and Crohn's.... who usually have diarrhea. It wasn't written for the autism community. <<I have seen stages talked about several times on here but haven't seen a list of the foods that should be eaten during certain stages on the pecanbread website.>> www.pecanbread.com Look under " Food Preparation " and scroll down. It's there. Patti, mom to Katera, SCD 9 months
Guest guest
From my understanding for the first 2-3 days my son > should only have meats, broth, and honey? You can give gelatin made with watered down legal grape juice on the intro, and carrots which are cooked in the broth when you make it (see recipe in BTVC - you strain everything out, then puree the carrots and you can put them back in the soup). The book said that " When fruits > are introduced, after a week or two, they should be ripe, peeled and > cooked. " Does the same hold true for vegetables also? Should I wait a few > weeks before introducing cooked veggies? After the intro, you can start trying well cooked veggies, such as zucchini and green beans, and winter squashes. All peeled, seeded, and well cooked. -- Sue, mom to Adam and SCD 3 months
