What is the difference between a " total capsulectomy " and " en bloc

procedure " ??

I just want to make sure the surgeon I have an appointment with knows

what to do, since they don't seem to really know what " en bloc " meant

when I called.

Would it be Ok to just say " I need my implants removed and a total

capsulectomy? " , rather than saying " It's got to be done en bloc... "

Leyna, Dr. Melmed told me that he always strives to remove silicone gel implants en bloc, if at all possible. If not, he does a capsulectomy. He takes removing all silicone gel seriously. Our reservation with him is that he hasn't taken removing saline implants en bloc as seriously . . . Still, when you see him, get it in writing that he will, at a minimum, do a total capsulectomy . . . and that he will leave the drains in until there is no significant drainage. Sometimes I think he tries to save women money by removing them after 24 hours so they can be on their way home. You might talk to your local doctor about removing the drains for you if there's still a lot of drainage after a day or so. One of our women, , had to stay in Alanta or almost three weeks. Hugs and prayer, Rogene
