Hi Ulla,

I felt compelled to reply, because I am going thru this my dd

right now.She has a problem w/bananas too.Not only can she not

physically handle them(worsening BM's)But she behaviorally regresses

as well.I have trialed this a couple of times. Then recently I tried

boiled pear it came right out ,and behavior was regressive as

well. She cannot tolerate higher glycemic foods period. The only squash

she tolerates is spaghetti sq.(I recently found out it has lower

glycemic value than most squashes)Very well baked or boiled.I have

tried green beans well cooked then pureed .Started this yesterday, she

is holding on to it and behavior is good as well.(Thanks Jody G.)I

have to try very small amts though. She seems now able to digest

ground chicken and beef(proteins)But never has been able to

digst .carbs.So this is a challenge.Even the squash is not fully

digested yet.

The concept of food combining is something totally outside the realm of SCD. If

someone wants to try to incorporate that along with SCD, that is an individual

decision. Some of the food combining ideas make sense...... but no, it is NOT

part of SCD and not something anyone needs to do to implement the diet we

support here.

Thanks, Jody, this may be helpful for my son's personal situation. I wonder,

though, is this the case even when taking a digestive enzyme(s) with the meal

that specifically address the fruit (and/or other items)? Did the Thropp's

enzyme people say that was the case even so?
