I hope this will help him. > > Unfortunately this brings him back on a very carbohydrate-low diet. > Hi Ulla, I felt compelled to reply,because I am going thru this my dd right now.She has a problem w/bananas too.Not only can she not physically handle them(worsening BM's)But she behaviorally regresses as well.I have trialed this a couple of times.Then recently I tried boiled pear it came right out ,and behavior was regressive as well.She cannot tolerate higher glycemic foods period.The only squash she tolerates is spaghetti sq.(I recently found out it has lower glycemic value than most squashes)Very well baked or boiled.I have tried green beans well cooked then pureed .Started this yesterday,she is holding on to it and behavior is good as well.(Thanks Jody G.)I have to try very small amts though.She seems now able to digest ground chicken and beef(proteins)But never has been able to digst .carbs.So this is a challenge.Even the squash is not fully digested yet. If someone wants to try to incorporate that along with SCD, that is an individual decision. Some of the food combining ideas make sense...... but no, it is NOT part of SCD and not something anyone needs to do to implement the diet we support here. I wonder, though, is this the case even when taking a digestive enzyme(s) with the meal that specifically address the fruit (and/or other items)? Did the Thropp's enzyme people say that was the case even so?
