Hello ladies, I am not a frequent writer but follow the group emails daily to keep up on things. I have had saline implants for 2 years, silicone for 22 years prior to that. So far I do not have any severe problems but do realize that they will have to go. I greatly appreciate the benefits provided by the knowledge and experience of group members and it has helped me greatly. I am having a dental issue that I would like to share with you as it was quite a surprise to me. I am taking Boniva (an oral biophosphonate). I may need to have a tooth pulled but I have learned that anyone taking a bisphosphonate such as Fosomax, Boniva, Actonel, just to name a few are at risk for developing osteonecrosis or rotting of the jaw bone. This information is on a release form that you have to sign before oral surgeons or endodontists will

perform work. Of course this does not mean everyone that takes these medications will have this problem, but risks for women with saline implants are higher due to the fungus/bacteria/mold problem that comes from the saline solution leeching into our systems and the potential for it to migrate to the jaw area while you are healing. Both doctors I saw reacted to this when I told them I have implants and confirmed the higher risk so we are working on saving the tooth without any invasion into the bone. Also, the information about breathing problems and costochondritis was very helpful and timely. I had been experiencing some problems so I began taking oregano oil. Within 24 hours my breathing was almost normal, and has stayed that way. I hope this information is helpful, there are way too many surprises these days. Respectfully, ,
