Guest guest
hey everyone, I don't have any children with CHARGE...heck, I don't have any kids period. I'm a college student at Northeastern University where I study Communications, and I think I may want to continue after I graduate to study deafblind ed. My school has a co-op program and for 2 co-ops I worked at Perkins School for the Blind (where I first came in contact with children with CHARGE syndrome) and the Helen Keller National Center (where I just worked with adults.) I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I'm doing a paper right now about children with multiple disabilities and I need information or personal stories about educational settings. My main goal is to show what specialized schools have to offer, but understanding that these schools are not always feasible (for parents or the school district), I'm also looking into information about interveners. If anyone could share their experiences with specialized schools, difficulties getting funding from their state, experiences with interveners, or any knowledge with this type of thing, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks everyone! Hillary
