Guest guest
Mike, I was so sorry to hear about your fall but glad to hear you are starting to spring back. I have read some awful descriptions of accidents by you, but you always seem to have such a good sense of humor and positive attitude about them. At times like that I don't feel very humorous. The last time I fell, I went around one side of a post and my dog went around the other while he was at the other end of a leash I was holding. When we both hit the end of the leash, I was the one that flew backwards. I sometimes feel like one of those cartoon figures that get blown off their feet by explosions. That has even happened when I sneeze although most of the time when I feel that coming I can grab onto something sturdy. Anyway, the point I am reaching is that when I got up and one of my neighbors asked me if I had fallen, I burst into tears. I feel like an even bigger dumbie at that point. Your family is very lucky to have you and I know they realize it and appreciate your courage. I appreciate it, too, as you show it is possible to feel that way. Hope you and your family have a fun safe holiday. I know it makes you much more conscious of the fragility of life when it is shown how quickly it can change. I like a phrase I read the other day, " Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow. " Refuse to let this keep you from enjoying life.
