One splurge?

One of our members asked about a birthday cake and it got me wondering

about special occasions...Is there ever a t time when you splurge? I

guess the answers can all be different.

I have been doing real well all week and last night my husband really

wanted sushi for dinner. I hate sushi and won't eat any of it. All that

raw fish makes me sick :-( In all our Japanese restaurants here that we

have tried only have Teriyaki steak/chicken or deep fried tempera.

Last night I really went mad and had a Teriyaki New York Steak...and

salad (seemed very sweet) and a bit of sake..YUM..just a bit.

Ok I was really freaked because I have been so good. So low carb. So

sugar free and the steak literally had a thick teriyaki syrup on it.and

I was very hungry and on and on..Justified it by saying " I will use this

dinner as a test " hehe

My readings were 130 at one hour and 160 (two hours after the meal) at

bedtime.. Not too bad but not too good...

This morn I tested at 135 which is ok. Yesterday I was 129..

So the dinner did not kill me.I guess the teriyaki " syrup " was not too

bad but not something I can do often..

What will happen if I eat cake?

Oh yea: Do you find that if you blow it real bad (like a very high carb

meal with sugar etc) that you have a hard time getting your numbers down

the next day or next few days or does the body snap out of it fast.??

Sussie :-)
