Hi All,

Finally got my saliva test results. Anyone have any comments? Would appreciate

them all! BTW..... I'm 42 and this test was done in the luteal phase (day 19-20

of a

26 day cycle.)

Estradiol 2.6 (1.0-5.0) (Optimal 1.5-3.0)

Progesterone 35 (100-600)

Ratio Pg/E2 13 (200-1000)

Testosterone 37 (20-50)

DHEA-S 15.6 (3-10)

Cortisol AM 2.9 (3-8)

Cortisol Noon 9.6 (2-4)

Cortisol Evening 2.9 (1-2)

Cortisol Night 0.6 (0.5-1.5)

I thought the DHEA-S was interesting given the fact that I had had my serum

DHEA-S level done about 3 weeks earlier via my doc and it came back at 130 (44-

352). But had this blood drawn about 4pm which would correspond to my Noon

saliva result showing high cortisol. Incidentally, my serum cortisol at the same

time

as the serum DHEA-S was 11 (4-22 or 3-17 -- don't know what the difference

between the 2 ranges are yet.) Will perhaps write the ZRT Lab (where I got these

saliva

tests done) and ask which tube they use to test the DHEA. If it's the first

tube (AM) it

would make sense because the cortisol from that tube was low.

I should also note here that I took my samples based on my " night person "

schedule,

i.e. at 12:30pm, 4:30pm, 8pm and 4am. Have been on a night schedule for over 7

years now and wanted to see what was going on in relation to the hours I keep.

I also

was having one of my heart pounding episodes during the Night tube collection

time

(4am.) I always thought this was a high cortisol thing but I see it's not.

Probably

means it's an adrenaline thing or a blood sugar thing. More likely a blood

sugar issue

since I don't have many of them now that I'm eating more regular/frequently and

have increased my protein intake considerably. And simple/refined carbs make me

feel really bad!

In the comments, they suggested bio-identical progesterone supplementation and

adrenal gland support, including phosphatidyl serine (PS). They also commented

that

my symptoms (you rate symptoms according to severity at the time of the tests)

suggest insulin resistence. Anyone here medicating and/or self-treating these

and

what are you doing for it? Anyone have info on where to obtain bio-identical

progesterone or herb preparations to assist with getting the progesterone up a

little?

I have Isocort (but haven't taken any) and have used PS. Restarted the PS on

Thursday before I got these results because I knew it helped regulate cortisol.

On

Saturday, I had a really great day! If any of you remember, I got a script from

my doc

about 3 weeks ago for hydrocortisone, 10mg twice a day. The only thing it

really did

for me was make me puff up, made me extremely depressed and gave me a huge

yeast infection. Perhaps 20mg a day was just too much and/or would have been

better taken with the PS.

Plan on making out a chart-like thing that distinguish which symptoms go along

with each hormone excess/deficiency. Anyone interested in seeing something like

this?

Any comments on the results? Thanks bunches!

Janet
