I just wanted you all to know that we head to the hospital tomorrow for our

second cochlear implant. The first one has never been successful for Bryce

(we've had it three years) so we are going to try and implant the other side.

We have a great team of specialists but they have no idea whether this one

will work any better for him. It seems that his nerves are dead on the

implanted side. They just don't know what the other side will be like until

we try. It's tough to go through the surgery with such unknown outcomes but

we felt like the potential payoff was worth the try. We;d appreciate yours

prayers!

We are also in the midst of moving to get better services for Bryce next year

in kindegarden. We started our own private (we raise all the money) preschool

for hearing impaired kids and it has been great but he's aging out now. We

got an offer on our house yesterday so we are on our way! The services in the

next county over are quite good so that's where we are headed.

Deedee, Mom to 6 year old Bryce
