Guest guest
Hi , If radiation does not cure, then surgery probably would not cure. If it were me, and radiation failed, I would consider Androgen Deprivation or hormone therapy. The hormone therapy will find and treat the cancer no matter where it is in the body. Guest guest
An opinion from Sloan Kettering Cancer center: "Candidates for salvage prostatectomy should be otherwise healthy, with a life expectancy greater than ten years, and have a cancer that was initially -- and is still potentially -- curable with radical prostatectomy. As with standard prostatectomy, the chance for a cure is substantially greater in those with cancer confined to the prostate. Surgery can be safely performed after unsuccessful external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, or combinations of these techniques." I have heard that the screening process will eliminate many potential candidates however. "il faut d'abord durer." Hemingway 2nd option If radiation doesn't cure is a prostate surgery possible as a 2nd attempt to treat/cure the cancer?
Guest guest
Threre are some possible follow up treatments. Cryotherapy and high intensity ultrasound have been offered. I am not aware of the success rate. Otherwise it is putting the brakes on with hormone manipulation etc. 2nd option If radiation doesn't cure is a prostate surgery possible as a 2nd attempt to treat/cure the cancer?
