Hi, Everyone!

My doctor did renew my Rx for 2 grain Armour, so I used my DOD pharmacy

privileges and got that filled before I left on vacation. Also, my 1 grain

Armour arrived from myrxforless (online pharmacy). My system seems to

*need* the 2-grain dose in the morning, so I went back to that, but also

began taking 1,000 mg of Vitamin C with it. I take the 1-grain Armour in

mid-afternoon, which is when I used to get the yawns. I take that with

Vitamin C, too. I did use my 1/4 grain tablets to transition up,

increasing a 1/4 grain per week for three weeks until I got to a total of 3

grains per day. The doctor had given me the 1/4 increase before I left on

my trip. No, I did not tell him that I was going to start self-medicating.

Here are my observations after six weeks on this:

a. I definitely have less joint pain, and few spasms in the ribs/abdomen

b. Skin is improving in texture and fewer breakouts

c. Resting temperature is between 97.8 or 98.2 (I am already past menopause)

d. Nails (fingers and toes) are growing in stronger -- fewer ridges and ripples

e. Much less fluid retention! I no longer have to loosen my shoes

f. Rib pain is nearly non-existent

g. My breathing is better -- in spite of having allergies and living in the

desert

h. My eyebrows actually need to be waxed more than once a month!

i. Head hair isn't showing much change yet, but there is new hair growing!

j. Hands no longer so puffy that they look like blown up rubber gloves

k. Weight has dropped 12 pounds, but part of that is by " diet " (high

protein, low carb)

l. Libido is definitely improving. Hubby and I are both happy about that!

I gave hubby a bottle of Armour 1 grain to use. He had been on Synthroid,

but the doctor stopped it. His last TSH was at 5.0 and the doctor called

that " good enough " (not the same doctor that we see now). He was

complaining of fatigue and I was complaining about his weight going up as

was mine. He is enjoying the results of this little experiment, too.

Our doctor has not be in his office because he fell and had to have surgery

on his knee. We will be seeing his PA in two weeks for new labs. She will

argue with us about doing the " frees " , but we will get them drawn.

Added to this is that I have stopped all of my arthritis

medication. Celebrex is prescribed to be taken daily, but I am not

comfortable taking something that way that has so much potential for harm.

Overall, I feel more alive than I have for a long time. I will keep you

posted. If hubby and I have to go to a full " self-medicating " situation,

we will do so rather than put up with inadequate treatment.

Best regards,

Dianne

Hi, ,

I have heard about Selenium, but have no idea how much I am

supposed to take, which brand, etc. What's it supposed to do? How much

should I be taking? My Ferritin and Iron are really good and I do take a

high-grade non-coated multi vit every day (no soy-based stuff in it).

My adrenal related problems have pretty much cleared up unless I

overdo it with salt ( " sodium " hidden in so many things).

I have enough energy for each day, which is good, but find that I

have energy enough to do more than what I had been doing

before. Thankfully, with the aching reduced, I am able to be more

" physical " than I had been, which is going a long way toward helping on the

weight reduction.

Almost feeling " normal " (whatever the heck that really is....<smile>)

Hugs!

The brand is not important, but the selenium should be 100-200mcg a day.

It helps with conversion of T4 into T3.
