Guest guest Posted April 14, 2004 Report Share Posted April 14, 2004 I have 3 nodules...one of which being dominant (measuring 2.0x4.0x2.3cm). I go for a RAI scan and uptake test next Monday and Tuesday. In the meantime...I am worrying myself about the possibility of cancer. I have read that thyroid cancer is pretty rare. But, I live in a very small community and have heard of 3 different people having it. I also have hyperthyroidism. I have requested my labs and will hopefully be receiving them soon to post. Will the testing/scan I am having done next week show if there is cancer or will I have to go thru more testing and waiting? I have already had an ultrasound done. Also, I should mention that all 3 nodules appear to be solid. Is this dominant nodule big enough to have to be removed or will that happen only if cancer is found? My doctor is not explaining anything to me. I have only been to him once since being diagnosed. I feel like I have so many questions and concerns. I guess I am just looking for anyones input. I am really feeling crummy lately. Since being diagnosed with hyper, I have not been given any medication whatsoever. I am assuming it is because it will interfere w/the testing..?
