Guest guest
Dr. Melmed does beautiful work . . . and has a way of putting his patients at ease. My concern is that he doesn't consider saline capsules as important to removed completely as we do, and he doesn't keep the drains in very long . . . but he's a very good doctor. I wish you could use him too. Rogene
Guest guest
Yeah, Dr. Melmed does sound great...he actually sent me an email, with prices, what to expect, hotels that give discounts, etc. I was very impressed! He said $6,445, and that includes the lift too! So, while that was a good price-at the same time, I'd be looking at adding a few more thousand for an airplane, hotel, rental car, food, all that stuff. I can't wait to get that handbook from my insurance company, and hope I can find someone in Tennessee-it doesn't have to be Memphis....just anywhere in Tennessee that my insurance will cover! This is so frustrating! --- Rogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: > Dr. Melmed does beautiful work . . . and has a way > of putting his patients at ease. > > My concern is that he doesn't consider saline > capsules as important to removed completely as we > do, and he doesn't keep the drains in very long . . > . but he's a very good doctor. > > I wish you could use him too. > > Rogene > > > > __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Well, my bad news is that...looking in drawers in my kitchen, I found my TennCare handbook. There were only 2 surgeons so far that takes TennCare. One was Dr. Koleyni, who I've got an appointment with on Septemeber 7th, and then the other was Dr. Wallace, who has the beotch nurse and who refuses to even consider seeing me until I have a letter stating that TennCare will pay for my removal. On top of that-the wait to get in for surgery would be 3 months. *sighs*Leyna <leyna1964@...> wrote: Yeah, Dr. Melmed does sound great...he actually sentme an email, with prices, what to expect, hotels thatgive discounts, etc. I was very impressed! Guest guest
I'd run for the woods before seeing the second doc that wants proof insurance will pay before even seeing you. It's clear that all he cares about is the money. Kenda > Well, my bad news is that...looking in drawers in my kitchen, I found my > TennCare handbook. Guest guest
Kenda, Yeah-he's got five strikes against him in my book....one, that I can't stand his nurse, who says that implants are perfectly safe, and that they still use Silicone in their practice. Two-they kept telling me that my insurance won't cover it, even though I said that I talked to them and they said they would do the surgery, as long as I had a note stating they were making me ill. Three-they wouldn't even try to help me with the insurance as it is-telling me I had to do all the work and they wouldn't evn see me without the letter from my insurance in my hand. Four-the wait to get in to surgery (if I use this guy) is three months! And Five-that nurse told me that I would DEFINANTLY be totally deformed if I got a removal with no replacement. So I'm sure hoping this other doctor I'm going to see on the 7th is better! --- Kenda Skaggs <skaggs@...> wrote: > I'd run for the woods before seeing the second doc > that wants proof > insurance will pay before even seeing you. Guest guest
That's what I'm thinking too. They were sure pushing replacement implants hard...and when I said "No way!" they kept pushing a very expensive lift. I will probably take out a loan for a lift, but I'm thinking I may wait to see how bad my boobs look after explant. Maybe not though-I may do it at the time of explant-I hate the thought of two surgeries! lolKenda Skaggs <skaggs@...> wrote: Wow. That's way too many strikes against him!! Guest guest
Isn't it cheaper to have a lift at the same time as explantation? If so, I'd opt for one surgery if you can swing it. Guest guest
I'd sure like to know what the good doctor would say about his surgical skills. If HE says you would be deformed, I'd run! If he doesn't know that his own nurse is insulting his skills, maybe he needs to be told!
