Guest guest
Thanks Sis...hopefully my neck too in time will get better Dec 12th will only be 3 mths since explant...can you describe your neck pain ? Mines like a tight burning ache from the lower part of my head to the upper part of my shoulders across the back. It comes and goes but is always there....certain ways I lay makes it worse too. My pain mgmt made a comment once saying he hoped getting the implants didn't do permanent nerve damage cause if so that never goes away...but isn't there away they could see that ? I mean an MRI shows nerve damage in your back and neck, right ?
Guest guest
, It's just so hard to say what the neck pain is about, especially since you've had surgery on it. If it is because of the implants, it could be something that will take time, and maybe you have to continue to try different things like the physical therapy you are going to, and any exercises they suggest. I went to physical therapy for 9 months post-explant and now my neck is doing much better. For a while I was frustrated because I had been going to therapy for so long, but it just was very stubborn - but then I started doing exercises on about 5 different machines at the gym after they finally got the symptoms to calm down(and the physical therapist spent time with me, teaching me how to use the equipment and monitoring my progress), and that made a huge difference. I'm glad that the fatigue and brain fog has improved for you, it took 4 to 6 months for me to notice a difference with that. My numb fingers took about 6 months, too, and now they're not numb at all. I think the numbness in my toes improved quickly, and my blood pressure went back to normal right after explant, and I no longer had the throbbing veins in my fingers. It took about 3 or 4 months for the daily headaches to go away, too. I had my explant one year ago and the thumb swelling has improved, but it does come and go. Last winter I had two big fat thumbs, sore knees, elbows and ankles. At this point they seem better, but I'm waiting to see what the winter has in store for me. Guest guest
Dearest : I am so sorry that you have had to go through all this pain. My neck was very painful and I could not turn my head for years. This is all better now, but the pain in my shoulders and my ribcage is bad. The heating pad works wonders for me. What has your doctor told you regarding this pain? Were your implants ruptured? It could be from the surgery and it could take time for you to heal. What is a cage? This could be the problem, but I have never heard of anyone having a cage. Sorry for being uninformed. Stay close and please see your doctor........love to you.........Lea ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`` What do you girls think.... I know you girls aren't doctors but I've been trying to figure this out...ok I had NO neck problems before implants...then 1 week after implants, I had a sharpe stabbing pain in my right shoulder...no neck pain really...then I had surgery on my neck c5 c6 with a cage...my neck pain got worse and then more in my neck area and not in the shoulder as much then after hematoma in left breast and having surgery my neck and upper back got worse then after have cap.contracture surgery on my right breast my neck pain got worse then after explant it's really bad.... I had an MRI but they can't seem to find anything...but the pain is bad...it comes and goes but its always there just sometimes worse than others... do you think the cage they put in my neck maybe causing this ? Wouldn't that show on an MRI ? After explant...my fatigue and brain fog has gotten a lot better and I really don't have much breast pain but the neck thing is bad... I just can't fiqure it out . Guest guest
There are nerve conduction tests that can be run that should be able to diagnose permanent nerve damage. Guest guest
, One of my earlier problems was neck/shoulder pain . . . My hand isn't going to cooperate with me if I type too much - But I am doing much better. Keep moving, stretch, massage, heat, exercise, sleep, etc. GMCLADY98@... wrote: I know you girls aren't doctors but I've been trying to figure this out...ok I had NO neck problems before implants...then 1 week after implants, I had a sharpe stabbing pain in my right shoulder...no neck pain really...then I had surgery on my neck c5 c6 with a cage...my neck pain got worse and then more in my neck area and not in the shoulder as much then after hematoma in left breast and having surgery my neck and upper back got worse then after have cap.contracture surgery on my right breast my neck pain got worse then after explant it's really bad.... Guest guest
A cage is something they put in your neck permanently after neck surgery if your disc was real bad...they can't seem to find anything else wrong...I just pray with time it will heal. Guest guest
, I don't know if an MRI shows nerve damage or not, I thought it showed things like herniated discs and perhaps if a nerve was pinched between bones, but I don't know if nerve damage is something that's detectable or not. My pain was also at the base of my skull and traveled down into my shoulders. Guest guest
Yes the cage is permanent...my PT suggested a chiro so I may give it a shot, I'll have to ask him about the cage first though.
Guest guest
Thanks Donna been that route, they found nothing and said if it's breast related I could be small un seeable nerves. But if some of you had the same pain and went away with time after explant then maybe mine will too......
Guest guest
Hello , I had severe neck and wrist pain and of course drs wanted to give me pills and do surgery on the wrists. I had relief from chiropractic - I was able to keep the pain at bay by making 2 visits a week. I did stop for awhile, and then went back when the pain did resurface. Would you consider chiropractic? Can you with the 'cage' you mention? I am not familiar with that - is that something you will always have in? > > I know you girls aren't doctors but I've been trying to figure this out...ok > I had NO neck problems before implants...then 1 week after implants, I had a > sharpe stabbing pain in my right shoulder...no neck pain really...then I had > surgery on my neck c5 c6 with a cage...my neck pain got worse and then more > in my neck area and not in the shoulder as much then after hematoma in left > breast and having surgery my neck and upper back got worse then after have > cap.contracture surgery on my right breast my neck pain got worse then after > explant it's really bad.... Guest guest
To my knowledge, the "cage" is a metal device implanted to lock vertebre in place - major surgery! . . and runs a high risk that vertebre above or below the "cage" will develop problems in the future. IMHO, any time you can keep your spine healthy by massage, stretching, exercise, diet and good choropratic care, you are ahead of the game. Not all chiropractors are good! Guest guest
I know, that is the truth! It pays to read a book or two on chiropractic before you pick one. I 'interviewed' a few both times I chose one. > > > > I know you girls aren't doctors but I've been trying to figure > this out...ok > > I had NO neck problems before implants...then 1 week after > implants, I had a > > sharpe stabbing pain in my right shoulder...no neck pain > really...then I had > > surgery on my neck c5 c6 with a cage...my neck pain got worse and > then more > > in my neck area and not in the shoulder as much then after > hematoma in left > > breast and having surgery my neck and upper back got worse then > after have > > cap.contracture surgery on my right breast my neck pain got worse > then after > > explant it's really bad....
