Guest guest
Hi ,I was very interested in your comments,I also have Scoliosis & osteoporosis,my scoliosis is quite significant, and after years of monitoring it,in 1984 I was told if I didn't have surgery I would be dead by the age of 50,as organs were also being moved by the curvature. The surgery involved 2 8 hour operations, the first to unfuse discs that had become fused, and to fit a halo on my skull, then 3 weeks flat on my back with 13 pounds of weight attached to the halo, then the second operation to put 2 Harrington rods on my spine to stop it curving more. The reason I am telling all this,is that although I was dx with PLS in 1988,I feel the first signs of PLS showed themselves not long after the surgery. So,I would like to hearfrom anyone who also has scoliosis,or has had fairly significant spinal surgery. There is a ALS doctor in Hamilton,Ontario,Canada, who's research involves spinal trauma. Take care & keep smiling,Dave Nunn
