Guest guest
Suzanne - The Welch's white and purple grape juices are fine. I don't know about the red. The V-8 is no longer legal since they changed their formula for making it. Everyone is using 's tomato juice now instead. As far as the Kedem, I don't think you will be able to say it is legal but you will have to decide whether you feel comfortable with it or not. I think there is a whole section on the pecanbread website about why only Welch's, Dole Pineapple Juice and now 's are the only approved juices. Or at least, the only approved ones I can think of at the moment. Zachary 4.3 ASD? SCD 3+ months

Guest guest
Welch's red and white are legal and so is Kedem, The Kedem organic is especially delicious. V-8 is no longer permitted. > We are about to start the scd diet with my 10 year old autistic son. > (we're just waiting to be scoped by Dr. Krigsman on Thursday). Guest guest
Hi Carol... can you please clarify something please. I thought I read in the book or website that ONLY red welches in the bottle are legal.I had been buying bottled white for obvious reasons with a 2 year old and really hated to change over. Was there an update that I hopefully missed??! Thanks again! > > > We are about to start the scd diet with my 10 year old autistic son. > > (we're just waiting to be scoped by Dr. Krigsman on Thursday). Guest guest
I believe Elaine said V8 was illegal now (some of her books say it's legal, like mine, but it depends on when it was published). God, I miss that brilliant dame on list! Jacquie I don't think V-8 is legal any longer......... can someone else comment?
Guest guest
Don't forget Tropicana original orange juice but as Elaine said, it is best not to give first thing in the morning if diarrhea is a problem. > Suzanne - > > The Welch's white and purple grape juices are fine. Guest guest
Make sure you're buying the Welch's grape (whether purple or white) that is in bottles...... NOT frozen. I don't think V-8 is legal any longer......... can someone else comment? Patti about to start diet and have some questions We are about to start the scd diet with my 10 year old autistic son. (we're just waiting to be scoped by Dr. Krigsman on Thursday). I went to the market to buy some items and have a few questions. Welch's grape juice came in different flavors (red, grape, white). Which one is scd legal? The white grape has potassium metabisulfite added to maintain freshness. Is this ok? Also, the v-8 came in different versions. On one of the cans it says " flavoring " . Are the Kedem grape juice products ok if I get a letter certifying that there is nothing added? (they are strictly kosher) Thanks for your response and for all of the information you have provided while I lurked and learned this past month. Guest guest
You are correct Patti. V-8 is no longer legal due to a change in formula . > Make sure you're buying the Welch's grape (whether purple or white) that > is in bottles...... NOT frozen. Guest guest
I am still using the 8th edition of BTVC which unfortunately shows both V-8 and turnips as allowed. Some do tolerate the turnips but they will be removed from future editions and may be absent from edition 9 for all I know. Elaine is hoping edition 10 will be out in the spring but it depends on the publisher. There is a recipe for a good vegetable juice on the Pecan bread website. Carol F.
