Guest guest
Yesterday morning I was awakened by a terrible leg cramp. It had me tearful and sobbing, before I could roll over and set up at bedside. I had already tried to straighten my leg and make the muscles in the back of the leg (below the knee) into a straightened set of muscles. Well that did not work, nor did standing on it. I'm glad my cane was there, as I had to have it to even come to a full standing position, before I could even think of taking a step. The tightness and occasional tensing is present even now. I took 3 Flexeril yesterday, all the while remembering what my pain doctor said earlier in the week. "No muscle relaxants. Your pump should take care of all of that kind of pain." Mind you, I only have morphine in my pump. Yes, he did turn it up to 3.4 mg/24 hrs., though I know and so does he, that is a small dose. Since yesterday a.m., I've noticed a gradual tightening of the leg, esp. to the outside of the upper leg, a tightening as well. It has never "cramped" to the extent the lower leg is cramped. It is as hard as a board, while the upper leg is hard to the touch, with soft margins around it. I'm wondering if this is a new phase of the RSD, or if this is just coincidental. If anyone has any ideas, throw them my way. I am going to have to see what the doctor says this a.m., my primary doctor. I'm going to run out of Flexeril this weekend, if I have to take them 3 times a day. So, I"M going to see what her office says. In the mean time, I solicit your replies. Yours in hoping we all have a low pain day.
