I haven't started the diet just yet, feeling my way through the nooks and

crannies so to speak. Tried to make youghurt from heating pad, crock pot, didn't

work couldn't get the temp to stay where it needed to be so I ordered my

yogourmet today. Spoke with Lucy, very nice lady, helped me with a few

questions, I have a better understanding of some things. My daughter loves

pasta - yep very illegal, however, I think speghetti squash will be out of the

picture for a while. I have a pasta maker, and was wondering if anyone has been

able to make pasta using the ingredients that are legal. If this is a dumb

question just tell me, I'm grasping at straws here. You need (generally when

making pasta) eggs, salt and flour - can nut flour be used for this? Has anyone

been brave enough to try? I'm going to guess it's the ingredients of the pasta

that are illegal vs how it's cooked, or am I wrong about this.

Feedback please

If your dd can handle eggs, I make " egg " noodles. I process 1-2 eggs in

food processor and cook on a griddle to make thin crepe. When cooled a

little roll up and cut into strips. These make a very good sub for noodles

and hold up well in soups.

Someone posted a while ago that it was impossible. Just having bought

a ravioli adapter for my own pasta machine, the thought also ran

through my mind.....what about scd pasta, but you would miss the

gluten so badly. It will fall apart.

You'll love the Yogourmet. As soon as I finish typing this e-mail, I'm off to

the kitchen to make a batch of yogurt in mine!

For a noodle substitute, try zucchinni squash. Use the small, slender ones.....

peel them completely and then continue using the veggie peeler to peel of long

strips. You can then cut the long, wide strips into narrower ones, if you wish.

Steam, boil or saute them for a few minutes, add butter, salt and pepper.......

or cheese if your child can have it..... or possibly toss with a little olive

oil and crushed dried basil or oregano. These also go well in chicken soup. They

turn out *almost* white in color and are a nice tender texture.

Don't worry too much about finding substitutes for all the foods she's hooked on

now, though..... after getting through the initial intro and beginning weeks,

you'll be surprised at how she adapts to new favorites.

Hi all,

I tried making pasta using the basic pasta recipe from the SCD recipe

website. I have to say it turned out horrible and ended up in the

rubbish bin.

I have used the recipe, though, in another way and made chips with

it. After making the " dough " roll it very thinly between baking

paper (so that it doesn't stick), then I bake it till its golden

brown. When cooled, just break it into chip pieces. My son loves

these. I thought I may tweak the recipe this weekend and use pureed

pumpkin to bind the flour an make pumpkin chips.
